There was a very simple answer.to your question given today by the Chief Medical Officer.

Basically he stated that if they introduce certain measures too early they won't have as much effect as if they are introduced at the right time so could actually be counter-productive.

Whether you choose to believe the Chief Medical Officer or you think that people with absolutely no expert knowledge in this subject know better than him is up to you.

So to take one, his point about sport was it was counter productive to stop stadium gatherings if you just move the audience into the pub instead.

Hes right with that, absolutely. The answer is therefore just cancel the game in the first place, then neither happens. We’ve not done that though, unlike seemingly now everybody else.

Yeah you can't answer the simple question. Suggest you move on.

The Chief Medical Officee stated that if they introduce certain measures too early they won't have as much effect as if they are introduced at the right time so could actually be counter-productive.

Why isn't that an answer to your question?

There are other experts that are current advising against mass gatherings in similar situations to the one the UK is facing, mate, which was his point.

For example, the Director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is currently advising against sporting events (mass gatherings) there as a means of slowing transmission earlier on in the outbreak cycle (and flattening the case/time curve, to reduce healthcare system strain), and that’s with far fewer people using public transit to attend games here (so reducing relative transmission risk compared to the UK).

I am not saying he is right and our Chief Medical Officer is wrong, I am just pointing out there is different guidance from different experts.

We definitely do not have less than 6000.

Johnson said up to 10k.

I think it’s likely more than that.

I know about 4 people who have every symptom. We have 3 off from work being tested!

They may not have it but it seems most people know someone.

if those numbers are right, and the virus numbers double every 3 days or so, it will be 20,000 by Sunday, 40,000 by Wednesday, 80,000 by the weekend and 160,000 in less than a fortnight.

I tell you what has surprised me most about all of this..

The proportion of epidemiologists we have amongst City fans.

I always knew your average City fan was more intelligent than fans of other clubs.

I don’t think the games I gonna go ahead.

Some of us are putting the several years of medical training before turning to spice dealing to good use.

Just answer the question or don't bother replying to my posts your choice

Your expert is outnumbered by other experts. That's why half of Europe has shut down and half of planet earth.

Something is off in the UK.

Does that answer your question?

Wake the fuck up.

How is stopping sports events counter productive? Are you saying people will get bored invade the etihad via a tram and pub and start hugging each other. I will ask again how will stopping large gatherings and asking some people to stay indoors increase the spread of the virus.
