If it sounds like a dipper and it looks like a dipper its a dipper

Yes fuck the dippers! We could have won the champions league and the fa cup for another treble so we've lost out as well. At least we won the charity shield and league cup, both those competitions reaching their conclusion. In fact them being denied the as good as won title would be the only bright spot in this awful situation.

Genuine question, if the season ends up being void, what happens to Sergios records? :/

Edit: of course he got them the proper way, and we will all know that, but he deserves to be in the record books properly
I'm sure the medical profession are working every hour on getting this resolved. It's truly worrying.

And we are still to believe only a 1000 or so in the UK have it? Fucking bollocks, the likelihood of Arteta and possibly some Leicester players being in that 1000 out of everyone in the UK shows what a farce the figures are, here and everywhere else.
It’s at least 10,000 now.

The most interesting thing is how they will resolve promotion and relegation if they outright cancel/void the season.

Leeds and West Brom would miss out on close to £500m between them if they just cancelled promotion, and each relegated team would lose upwards of £100m if they went the "as it stands" route - which with Villa having a game in hand is pretty impossible.

I'm pretty sure the FA can safely go down the act of God route, and just restart in August with the same teams in the same leagues on the principle that it's equally fair/unfair to everyone.

They won't void it. They'll shunt the Euros to 2021 and finish the leagues in the Summer (assuming that the situation will be better then).

No one is asking you to believe it's 1,000 people have it. No one is saying that at all. What they're saying is that 600 have tested positive, and that's always been accompanied by the explanation that only those who are seriously ill or have come into contact with a positive case are tested. They've always been open about that and today publicly said it's over 10,000.

The vast majority of us will catch it, get over it with 7-14 days of isolation and never be included in any figures at all.

This is it in a nutshell. I guess the players are a bit removed from reality due to still picking up mega bucks whether they play or not. I have heard players in Spain have expressed serious concerns as they don't want to catch it and pass it onto elderly relatives.

This is exactly correct. Players can probably cope with illness (based on the limited info we have so far) - older relatives and/or friends would be in danger.

I’d be livid if I was a player and told to play now.

I'm not sure they'll be able to restart in the summer, we're going to need every football player to have caught it and recovered by then or they'll be at risk. I've seen people suggest we go back up to 22 teams next season and relegate 4.

They could promote two teams from each league, and distribute money more evenly across all the leagues for next season. Or just say bad luck. There isn't going to be an easy answer, really.
