Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I think it would be quite difficult for City, or any club, to vote against Liverpool being awarded the title. It would look really bad, churlish and petty. I think we would vote for it, through gritted teeth. And keep reminding them and everyone else that we did.
Considering they tried have us banned from the CL, they setup the petition to have us investigated, they hacked our club, they smashed the team bus and got away with it. I think we would relish voting against that. I know what youo mean though it would be good to rise above that shit, but I hope our owners dont this time, we been too nice

Or completely the other way..
Dodgy free kicks which led to goals(against teams)
Bent Refs decisions..take your picks
Plus ever other team/fans in this country fking detest the c..ts

Fuck the league off, same with all football.

It'll still be there next season and the season after that and the season after that.

It's not hyperbole to put off football for the relatively short term for the sake of people's health.

The mind boggles at the amount of greedy cünts within the game.

Some of it will be there.

I would be surprised if the EFL resumes with 71 teams, probably closer to 51.

Many of them simply cannot afford to take 6 months off football.

People will suggest a bail out, but the price would get prohibitive if some of the more debt ridden championship teams get in trouble.

Isn't 3rd April supposed to be right in the middle of the peak period for CV? Seems like they're delaying the inevitable.

Well that's the issue, by that point a decent proportion of the population will have it.

They'd have to play the games behind closed doors and literally wrap the players up.

July/August is a more realistic time frame.

would they be voting on who gets relegated and prompted ?

Agree - its the other end of the table where the issue is. Villa are 3 points short of safty with a game in hand! how do you sort that out?

good point. Still you can’t give them the title. It’s still mathematically possible they lose the title so they have not deserved the win.

void the season and that’s it.

Is there anything those twats on that shit station wouldn’t use to get idiots outraged enough to ring up!

If the playing field this season was level and Liverpool weren't one of the clubs behind our CL ban, I'd give them the title. But I'm not sure now. A lot of people seem to have forgotten that Liverpool benefitted from many controversial decisions in the first half of the season including the game with City. Think there was a plan to help them win the league.

If they are awarded the title, it will be without any significant records borken. Which is fine with me.

How do you decide which teams get relegated if the league places are counted as they are as we stand?
