I don't know. I guess thats something they will try and predict. How long they can hold this off until a vaccine is available. Herd immunity from what i can tell basically says a vaccine is irrelevent, we will just let people get it naturally and the consequences of that are mass casualties.

That's what it appears - the only way to get it is to expose high numbers, which inevitably will bring a higher number of deaths.

It may be that a slow spread can be managed to limit the number of deaths, but it still seems weird not to take fairly obvious measures to limit spread.

A woman from WHO just yesterday morning said they believe the mortality rate to be anywhere between 1% and 2%. About 5 hours later our CMO said 1% or less. Is there any reason to believe the UK figure over their figure?

I would expect it to be less than 1%.

The only exact figures we have. That is the cruise ship. 696 passengers contracted it and 7 died, which is pretty much 1%. I'm taking an educated guess that a cruise ship, during term time, is predominantly going to be filled with older people and therefore more susceptible. If only 1% of those died, the likely figure across a whole age range would be lower.

if you experience flu like symptoms, a high fever , persistent cough then regardless of whether you have been in contact with anyone with Covid 19 or your travel history, fucking stay away it’s not our problem. Just fuck off.

What are you angry about? You’d have to self-isolate, of course you’d need to stay away. Or am I missing something? Unless you are elderly or have underlying heath problems, there is little-to-no treatment for you. You have to ride it out at home and not pass it onto anyone else.

No chance. This is the best opportunity to play with only a handful of players etc. confirmed positive. In 3 weeks there is likely to be at least 1 person related to every clubs first team that has had it or knows someone that has so has to self isolate.

I’m well aware of the other countries’ experts guiding their governments but their health services are different, they have different peaks of when their system is under stress, they have different social policies generally and it is possible they will revisiting this scenario again once their lockdown is over.

What is the point in having our government and these scientists guiding them if we’re just to ignore it and say they’re wrong, based on other nations that have a different system to us?

Sadly in my 12 week ultrasound my baby showed signs of very severe problems including cystic hygroma, gut herniation and fluid in the chest cavity and abdomen. I had a CVS test done and sadly initial result came back positive for Edwards syndrome. I’m extremely sad and upset that it’s over. I have to have the surgical option because my heart can’t take the thought of passing naturally and being in labour for hours. I have a high risk of infection after too

it’s shitty but I guess that’s life
