Even if that means killing 500,000 over 65’s? By allowing 60% of the country to catch it.
Have you seen the press conference?
Genuine question because you’re asking questions as if you haven’t.

Fuck off giving it the little Englander shite.
It’s got fuck all to do with it and that’s twice now you’ve added immaturity to the discussion, if you’re not old enough to have a mature debate and instead want to act like a playground bully, I’ll just fuck you off on ignore.
I’m well aware of the other countries’ experts guiding their governments but their health services are different, they have different peaks of when their system is under stress, they have different social policies generally and it is possible they will revisiting this scenario again once their lockdown is over.
What is the point in having our government and these scientists guiding them if we’re just to ignore it and say they’re wrong, based on other nations that have a different system to us?

You do realise that other countries have experts right? And those are the ones that don’t seem to be coming to the same conclusions as ours? And that’s what the other 9 refers to.
Stop being so little englander. This a worldwide pandemic. It’s only healthy to take in ALL information and ask questions. Why aren’t you doing the same?
Ok. That's fine. I'm not necessarily taking one view over another. But why are the WHO saying 1-2%. Why the disparity and what is the evidence for accepting one figure over the other?I would expect it to be less than 1%.
We know what their argument is, but are they right because China has obliterated the virus and done the exact opposite and they sit here today with almost no infections.Have you seen the press conference?
Genuine question because you’re asking questions as if you haven’t.
So we just ignore Italy then? The only exact figures we have. That is the cruise ship. 696 passengers contracted it and 7 died, which is pretty much 1%. I'm taking an educated guess that a cruise ship, during term time, is predominantly going to be filled with older people and therefore more susceptible. If only 1% of those died, the likely figure across a whole age range would be lower.
You got like this during both Brexit and the GE.
UK citizens have every right to be asking why the fuck are they now pretty much the only country that (until an hour or so ago) still has everything going on as normal. All his nonsense about different systems isn't gonna wash.
We can all argue until we're blue in the face but time will tell. In a matter of weeks we'll find out if Boris is a genius or summoned thousands to their premature deaths. Considering he's pretty much out on his own with this I'd say the odds are stacked against him.
We know what their argument is, but are they right because China has obliterated the virus and done the exact opposite and they sit here today with almost no infections.
If China's infection returns then they will be right, but at the moment there is no sign. Is it inevitable? Surely with social distancing, vigilance and an army of testers, doing what China has done is the way for the whole world to go.
In my experience the two leading STEM nations are China and Korea yet we think we know better than they do? It's a difference in policy. The results suggest the Chinese are right. Even if there is a new infection I would back the Chinese to wipe it out in double fast time. I'd much rather be in Wuhan or Beijing now than manchester with a Government which says they want 70% of us to get ill. I know their argument but it does not make it right.
So we just ignore Italy then?
So very sorry to hear that Bob, that is so very sad.Sadly in my 12 week ultrasound my baby showed signs of very severe problems including cystic hygroma, gut herniation and fluid in the chest cavity and abdomen. I had a CVS test done and sadly initial result came back positive for Edwards syndrome. I’m extremely sad and upset that it’s over. I have to have the surgical option because my heart can’t take the thought of passing naturally and being in labour for hours. I have a high risk of infection after too
it’s shitty but I guess that’s life
We do. People will do what is required to stay alive, and if they don't there's martial law.China welded people’s front doors shut - we’ve got no chance of following their draconian measures.
Indeed. To go back to the WHO woman who said 1-2% yesterday. She said 1-2% but that depends on managing the situation, and slowing the peak so that health care systems aren't totally overwhelmed. She said if that is not done then that's where the problems start because nobody is able to get any medical care. I took from that that if not managed the mortality rate could be anything.Well let’s hope we are prepared then.
