I asked my daughter's best friend who is a public health statistician and apparantly the reasoning for the government not cancelling sports stadium events is as follows.
If you attend a professional sport event you connect with on average 14 people. 6 people who you brush past en route to/from the game. The two people you sit next to, 3 people behind you and 3 people in front of you and the 3 people behind you can only be infectious to you. You are outside for the most part, so less infectious than indoors.
In comparison standing outside like the fans of PSG did is lethal. Watching sport in a pub is even worse as you are in an enclosed atmosphere with 25+ people.
No, the only reason for cancelling sport is if the players can spread it to each other or the use of umpteen police and emergency personal staff who can be better employed elsewhere.

It's not even funny, Rummenigge, the bent bastard, has said today that the League must continue as a TV payment is due and they won't get any cash if it's called off. That's all these ****s care about. Money, money and more fucking money; we are just a resource to be bled dry by these ****s.

As much as I hate it, but I honestly think PL will continue behind close door. Because it within England. I hate those cnuts but they probably end up win it lift their trophy behind close door, that's all.

What I hate the most is if they cancel CL. Fucking unfair if they do. Atletico dump these cnuts out of the CL, broke their Anfield records. And guess what? CL cancel and void all that? Fuck.

Hope it continue the CL, because Dippers won't be sailing to the next stage.

Welp just want to leave this here for the Dippers fan.

not a chance in hell that football will be playing in June. 10 weeks away is the predicted peak of this virus. Far worse than now.

The Chinese government is responsible. They tried to hide it for two months. They also created Wet Markets in the 80s - a time bomb that has been ticking away ready to explode.
 
There is no way the season is going to resume (in my opinion) we are a few weeks away from more draconian measures in this country the government are just biding their time I think the season will be voided anything else and they would be open themselves up for lots of legal challenges because nothing is a mathematical certainty bad luck Liverpool, next year will be your year
 
No matter what team you support and no matter how strong your dislike for any other team this really is a no brainer.
All football has to stop, all sporting events and more thought given to large gatherings.
The sad thing is that is it takes once in a generation things like this to remind the majority of us about personal hygiene.
I do fear that the delay until April will only be a starting point and could well see the restrictions lasting until 2021..but if it saves lives then who cares.
Contrary to the great Mr Shankly, football (or any sport) is not more important than life and death.

If you did this.

Then how do you decide who finishes in the top 4 ?

How do you decide who is to be relegated ?

How do you decide who is to be promoted ?

How do you decide Champions League winner ?

The only realistic,logical, way is to declare the entire football Season "Null and void ".

No other fair way of doing it.

You can not award Liverpool the Title without opening a can of worms and potential law suites from teams missing out on Top 4,promotion,relegation etc.

The 1939-40 season was 3 games in with blackpool top of the old first division when war broke out and the league suspended and no trophies given.
