Maybe there's a positive spin, that they are increasing the free ICU bed capacity from 60 to 460? The general health of the Scottish population in certain regions is fucking awful mind you, so when it hits them up there, god knows what the ICU load will be like.

Perhaps the prospect of having to do some real parenting for 24hrs a day does not appeal to some.

There is sometimes common sense in places you would least expect it. It is one of my lady's grand kids birthday tomorrow. Normally we would have to attend, the place would be germ city at the best of times with several little ones around. I was therefore preparing myself for the row about her not going and what a twat i am. Her daughter has phoned up forbidden us from attending.

If you don’t think the clubs own doctors will be doing testing on £20 million assets then you’re deluded. The rest of us ring the doctor, your work don’t value you like clubs do.

Many sectors and industries will feel this massively. Rightly or wrongly there is mass panic and the hospitality/aviation industries will feel this for a long long time.

Small to medium size independent business will need some central support.

The measures taken so far include the education element which is more important than anything else.

Our office never had alcohol hand sanitisers but it does now. Our company never considered home working but now it is.

Really healthy people are only doing the above to stop the spread to others and not to stop themselves getting it.

If we close everything down then the spread will slow which is great. But, the virus will resurface as soon as the doors are reopened which makes it pointless.

The only reason for a lockdown at the moment is to slow infections so that the NHS can gain control but unlike in Italy the NHS has not lost control nor is it swamped.

In an ideal world we'd infect everyone who is healthy on purpose, give them 2 weeks isolation and then that would probably get rid of this thing for good.

If a vaccine becomes available then that will do the exact same thing, it will give you the virus so your body can fight it and in the future not become infectious to others again.

Yes and no. All we know is that the numbers of confirmed cases is exploding, but that could be because the numbers of tests being performed has been shooting up over the past few days. 2 days figures are not enough to recognise any patterns anyway. We'll know in a week.

The death rates are very revealing because they are quite unamiguous. Almost certainly accurate, not subject to misinterpretation or speculation, just cold hard figures. That's why i was so alarmed by Italy's spiralling death rates and where they were headed when I looked at it on Monday. Using Sunday's data, they had 233 dead, and yet it was obvious that would hit 1,000+ by yesterday, which it duly did.

Explain it to people, and they will understand especially when they know that in 1 mnth it will be sorted. The longer it's left the hrder and longer it will take to eradicate.

I believe from reading the Italian papers about Lombardy that those stricken Italian towns are now virus-free. it's doable. I'd rather stay indoors for a month than get it and risk dying. The government wants us to get infected but in a controlled manner. They said it. get your head around that.

We'd be better off infecting the young and healthy in a controlled manner if that' their plan.

i hope im wrong marvin but i dont think Martial law would be effective, police and military numbers down probably at their lowest then they will have a sick rate among them,cant see those forces controlling 70 million

Most people with kids don't want them. Hence the campaigning for schools to stay open, wanting shorter summer holidays, longer hours at school, before and after-school provisions etc etc.

Children are a hindrance to most.
