I am in good shape myself, especially since i have pretty much quit smoking, but should i be needed for elder members of the family i.e. go shopping for them or such i would like to do the best i can not to be a carrier.

when i was tested they said there had been positives test in my area not yet reported on,that was nearly 2 weeks ago though,i don't know if they were drip feeding the numbers to the public or the system was jammedOfficially there's 5 in the area I live. Yet I've seen concrete evidence of 3 in just those we have dealings with. And that's just 3 with whom we deal with.
Its actually good news I suppose, as it suggests that a huge number of folk don't suffer any/many symptoms

I've seen numbers this week for my own eyes and no way does it resemble official figures. It can't do, the maths don't add up. It's either being downsized or official figures have a lot of catching up to do.
Thing is Karen they make it sound so reassuring and helpful but u come away no fuckin wiser. How can they confirm I have it and as such I can’t travel, (least of my worries). I rang my doctors back to ask for more asthmatic medication and he confirmed I had it and wished me well. Urgh sounds bloody horrid mate, as much as it sucks take solice you are not likely to end up a statistic but just feel like a bag of shite for a while. The UK currently have something like 10-15 thousand cases and about 10 deaths. current rate something like 0.1%. During this phase at this rate 60% of the population get it and 59.9% recover and are immune. So when the rate goes up the viable population is down to 40% and therefore the ratio of beds to patients is up and the end death rate is much lower.
That is the current plan. People self isolate so the contagion rate is lowered and the medical services are not overwhelmed so that when the spike comes it is later less steep and peaks much lower.
Death has been doing that since time began, to be fair.This is overwhelmingly going to take out the weak, which adds a degree of weight to some of the conspiracy theories.

That’s how many have tested positive. Most of us will not be tested. If there were 10k estimated to be infected yesterday, we are now at about 13,500. But in truth I think the 10k estimate was conservative.Yes I know that, so why is the official figure 798? Makes no sense to me.

If people plan their lives around working hard and providing for their families and then a worldwide pandemic affects their ability to work and earn money, that's not in the "shouldn't have had kids" bucket. Yes, people choose to have children, based upon reasonable assumptions about how their earning potential will support that family - if a worldwide crisis limits that potential then you can hardly call them for that.

It's a different conversation entirely, and not necessarily covid-based, but if you simply cannot be off work to look after your kids, don't have them. If you have to beg, borrow and steal childcare - don't have kids.

We introduced Drive through testing 3 weeks ago. At this point it is mostly useless.
Drive through testing means you get ill, drive to get a test, get tested, get the results in a few days and then when it comes back positive you self isolate. If you're not better in a week you consult medical advice.
The UK's policy is simply you get ill, assume you have coronavirus and isolate. If you don't get better in a week, you get tested when consulting medical advice.
All testing is doing is adding a middleman at great cost and using a precious resource. There's a reason something like 90% of the early tests were negative and when the world doesn't have that many kits, it's much better used on someone who's properly ill.
