Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I've given the scousers plenty in this thread over the last few days but I have to say mate, your last sentence is absolutely spot on.

Also, I thought Klopp was magnificent if his quote from yesterday was accurate. Not surprised though, he (Klopp) is a fundamentally decent human being and I cant help but like him. Rivalry aside, he is a really nice bloke and has done a brilliant job at Anfield. Its not his fault liverpool fc are a pretty distasteful bunch.
He’s a fucking despicable **** at times. Look at Pep in defeat, that’s what a good loser looks like, completely class in every way!

But Klopp - it’s never his or his players’ fault, it’s the pitch, the ref, the grass was too long, the wind, the goal lines were too thick, West Ham’s bubbles made it slippery... he’s squared up to numerous linesman (what was it he was doing to the linesman last week when Liverpool went 2-1 up against Bournemouth? Looked like he wanted to kill him!). Remember the other year when they drew with Everton and Everton got a penalty and in the post-match interview he basically said that the interviewer knew fuck all about football and shouldn’t be asking him questions? All because Klopp said it wasn’t a penalty. Then the interviewer said “well it’s not my opinion, everyone in the studio said it was a penalty as well” and Klopp saw his arse big time “oh well I know nothing then HA HA HA HA” (he wasn’t really laughing, he was fuming). The interviewer showed him up for the **** he is.

He’s a fucking arsehole! The worst ****y manager since Ferguson!

He also pretty much said Simeone was a twat for setting up his team like he did..!

Oh how we all laughed at the way that turned out..!

Klopp's been assimilated into the dipper cult now and he's worshipped as THE figurehead..

I'm my book that makes him the biggest CULT of the lot of them..!

To be fair, that's some achievement Bingo..!

Well Brady stuck her head above the parapet yesterday and, judging by the reaction, the chances of the season being declared null and void are a big fat zero.

The PL needs to be seen to be making every effort to resume the season at some stage before they freeze league positions. But it looks increasingly like we will have a 22 team league next season.
the deluded dippers genuinely think that she's the only 1 that has these views...she's just the only 1 thats had the bollocks to come out with it....so far.....

The back pages all full of talk about resuming the season and playing it out between July and September.....and in the same breath talking about the financial impact of the virus on club values......fucking bunch of hypocrites chasing the dollar rather than thinking first and foremost about the impact on fans!

we all know they should be voiding this season and perhaps planning to start next season a month or two later.

dont see this at all. Yes the commentary maybe different right now from some but back in the real world that ain't happening. Football wont start till Aug/Sept at best most likely. It would take 2 months to finish this season. euro 2020 needs accommodated and in an already packed squeezed schedule they want to add 4 more games into it. No chance it would compromise schedules for years ahead

If the season gets called void what’s the odds on Karen Brady receiving death threats?

They’ll probably scrap the carabao cup to make way for the extra games. But obviously it all depends on when next season starts

He wasn’t too fussed about the bus attack the incessant booing and the advantage it gave them

Has anyone in the top echelons of the English football organisation actually come out and announced their final contingency plan yet or are they still carrying on with their gold plated Monday to Friday 9-5?

Just asking ,but who would make up the extra 2?

They should only really talk about what to do if the season can’t be finished at that point.

For City it is still very much in our best interest for the season to be played out.

You can add Oliver "laa" Holt to the list of pathetic liverpool cheerleaders chucking every superlative under the sun out on why the season must resume so Liverpool can get the title.

Apparently behind closed doors those in the know think April 3rd is a pipe dream noting the players will all need a week or two at least to get match fit again and so on. This news is all over the sports pages with Brightons manager being quoted on it. I don't see how this season can be completed personally, certainly not April if the peak of this is projected to be in June.

Are the FA and Premier League going to dip into the cash they have accumulated for doing sod all to help those clubs who may be in trouble due to this virus? If they don't it should be a national scandal because what else is that cash for? Some will be earmarked for some stuff but they have a few billion between them. This is exactly the sort of rainy day their pots should be used for. If not it screams to me they are indeed greedy cash oriented sob's. Personally i think they should be dismantled and rebuilt with genuine transparency in all their dealings to help rebuild credibility and trust from the fans.

I see he’s crowned Liverpool champions, despite them not actually winning fuck all yet.

As has been said elsewhere, this thing is a war. It isn't something where it's happening elsewhere and 'thankfully not happening to us'. It is. All resources, well most, will be eventually used to level it off and hopefully overcome it. Who knows what or when the outcome will be? It's all best guess. With the outcome unknown, surely it doesn't take much of a thought process to just postpone everything and when the coast is clear, whenever that will, make formal and final decisions then? I applaud that the PL and others suspended their games, but by April 4th our world will be a different one even from a couple of weeks ago, which just underlines that nobody has any clue as to where all of this thing is going to lead. My simple answer, keep the main decisions to a time when this thing has upped and gone.

Why are people believing the media propaganda? Nobody against the dippers winning the title? It's designed to get people used to the idea and to put pressure on the authorities to make this happen. If it did it would make a mockery of professional football in this country. The Germans, as usual, have done the right thing and done it quickly. Season over, no title, no relegation.

Just asking ,but who would make up the extra 2?

That solution is obviously looking at bringing Leeds and West Brom up. However I'm sure Fulham who are currently 3rd would have a say on that. Yes they are currently 6 points adrift but 2 games ago they were 9 behind so they'd argue that on current form they would easily broach that gap.
