No your car depreciates in value the min you drive it away from the garage, unless you are thinking about a lamberginhi ?any financial bods on here?,,was wondering with the state of the economy and the risk of the pound becoming less valuable every day, if you say had 10k in cash would you be better buying a physical item such as a car to retain certain value

No issue with @Indaparkside expressing concerns, just had to challenge the assertion I had been belittling posters in the thread, as I do my best to be reasonable, respectful, and compassionate with everyone on the board. Though, I am human so I’ll obviously not *always* be successful, hence why I am happy to take your and his thoughts via PM, though, if either of you have concerns. That's fair enough, I've all the time in the world for the lad so if he spoke up he had fair grounds.
I may have made this point earlier with army. Check my posts.Dr Anthony Costello, formerly of the WHO just live on BBC News. Saying he has lost faith in the health and scientific advisors to the government. That we have had 7 weeks to prepare and get our testing up. That we are not protecting our front line, the health workers and will lose 50% of them to quarantine. Saying we need to lock down London immediately with army on the streets as London is essentially going to be like Wuhan in a week. We face a “tsunami” of cases, particularly in a London, and we have barely any ventilators. Italy announcing nearly 500 deaths today an he says that is us in 10 days. He’s basically saying we’re fucked. Which is terrifying considering who’s saying it.
That’s very good pointUnfortunately, there is a likely reason many NHS staff are not currently being tested. And I want to be clear, I am not saying I condone this at all, as I do think this is problematic for both trust in the response and for long-term health outcomes.
If they test positive they must be isolated and potentially treated (depending on the severity) which will remove those health professionals from the pool managing treatment, further reducing capacity as case volume only increases (including those health professionals ‘switching sides’, which is a big swing). You can see how things might spiral once comprehensive testing begins. Some of this is already going on with health professionals that have been presumptively identified as infected via symptomatic assessment, but is likely a small proportion of those likely actually infected based on continuous exposure.
Of course, that also means many of those health professionals that are infected (but not showing symptoms sufficient for presumptive positive identification) may be contributing to the transmission of the virus to individuals in hospital that were not already infected with the novel coronavirus, including those with comprised immune systems and other high risk underlying conditions.
It’s a horrible situation for all involved with no easy solution.
Depends if we arrest them or not.Shut schools and half the parents will treat it like the summer holidays and take their little darlings out every day.
I understand the decision but if people think many parents are going to stay in 24-7 with their kids for what might be months, they're mistaken
No to be honest Seb I thought you were in the right, was just defending his right to challenge, ill leave it at that.No issue with @Indaparkside expressing concerns, just had to challenge the assertion I had been belittling posters in the thread, as I do my best to be reasonable, respectful, and compassionate with everyone on the board. It was if you have been in contact with some who has tested positive then you got tested, like worsley had with me but i don't know if that still stands,i find the testing info has been contradicted by the health advisors, sometimes by themselves in the same news conferenceThe figures are odd, every day some new celebrity comes out as being coronarised, the NHS however are not even testing people unless they have it bad, are these people buying kits from some shyster snake oil salesman or have they got access to opportunities we don't have?
Keep your moneyany financial bods on here?,,was wondering with the state of the economy and the risk of the pound becoming less valuable every day, if you say had 10k in cash would you be better buying a physical item such as a car to retain certain value
so a used car today at 10k in say 3 months could be only worth say 7k, but the 10k cash will always be worth the 10K however hyper inflation due to the economy will see this at less value than it is today today but it would stay strong versus contractual mortgage payments while rates are low,,does that make any sense lolEconomy is fucked, hold onto your cash.
Don't suppose you ever taught at Claremont Juniors?
I once had a form teacher there who was a big blue and also my first footie coach.
Used to take him in Hamlet cigars for Christmas.
Imagine kids taking cigars in for the teacher?
Suppose it beats an apple!!
10k now might not be worth the same soon bud.so a used car today at 10k in say 3 months could be only worth say 7k, but the 10k cash will always be worth the 10K however hyper inflation due to the economy will see this at less value than it is today today but it would stay strong versus contactual mortgage payments while rates are low,,does that make any sense lol

Only if you can tear yourself away from repeats of Homes Under the Fcukin Hammer. No doubt we`ll be watching "The Great Escape" for the 176th time then.
I'm new, lots have been here years... as a result of being new I just take posters as they are from their posts, not knowing anyone, gives me now an opportunity just to comment on how I find the 'thread' of this thread. My experience of this thread is like that of any other 'forum' threads, lots said by a strong vocal few and that certain posts are given to be more valued than others...no different than anywhere else. It's a difficult job to weed stuff out or say to someone things that may be difficult for them to take on board. It's part of online life. I only joined Bluemoon because of the UEFA stuff, that's another life time away, if it wasn't for people in this forum posting what they' have I wouldn't be half informed as I am. The feelings I get from posters in general are a mirror of what's going on out here...as in anything people will take a point of view, cause agreement or disagreement, there's few views I don't care for, but hey ho that's how it goes. All I will say there's no need for anyone to feel 'protective', the overall conversation is pretty solid, it has inputs from a wide range of people both from home and abroad...which to me commends this thread rather than distracts from it. Carry on with how it's going, if somebody doesn't care for it, then that's their view...they don't have to participate...I'll shurrup.
