The idiocy (and selfishness) of panic buying

I shot an elk last year and three deer, that takes up quite a bit of room
I would be careful what you are eating. Deer and other cervidae are infected with a wasting disease and can lead to crisfield Jakob disease in Humans.
US experts are expecting a increase in such cases in the future as most animals do not show any signs of the wasting disease when killed

As of yet there haven’t been any cases ofbtheCWD in my area

Ooh noticed the thread title was moved up a notch.

I did a little shop in waitrose this morning and managed to get a basic shop. Other than bog roll and hand sanitizers I got everything we needed for the week.

We are an embarrassment. Selfish and narcissistic. My Dad was evacuated and they were not like this.

The blitz is often romanticised.

I’ve read on it quite a bit and spoken to several people, including family, around at the time.

People often stole from each other, trampled over each other to get into the underground, when the sirens went off and even the fire brigade looted.

That said, as we’ll never do, they didn’t give in to the terror.

I just want to know where all these c*nt's are with industrial fridges is their kitchen's. I was in Tesco this morning on my way home from work, and there were people buying 30 pints of milk. I saw at least 3 trolley's piled up with milk. One had 5x 6 pints of semi-skimmed.

Why the f*ck are people stocking up with perishables that they'll probably end up tipping down the sink?
Some people are so thick they wouldn’t even realise their stupidity if it milked their own tits.

Lots of houses were robbed during air raid sirens and people heading for the tube stations in London in WW2.

No bloody tuna the last week or so. I normally eat it three or four times a week. Shortages of pasta in supermarkets but I went to a deli who had plenty. Turkish and Kurdish mini markets down here are well stocked too. I guess most people are lazy and just go to the large supermarkets.

Bread is a bit of an issue so we just got a load of self-raising flour and will make our own (that is, dump the ingredients in the bread maker and wait four hours)

That coincides with what someone on here was saying earlier, that its only scumbags who are panic buying, waitrose clientele are more sensible.

Absolutely.

It’s a false idea that everyone was in it together and sang songs in the underground and shelters.

People did what humans will always do facing death, that did what they could to survive.

Not taking away from that generation. They refused to give in still, despite being bombed night after night and we owe them a great deal.

That’s why this panic buying doesn’t surprise me, however it needs to be said that this situation is nowhere near what the war generation went through.

People do need to fucking grow up here and stop it.

Indeed. But even then, while most of the population were beyond fantastic back then, there were many who couldn’t deal with it. In London (I did a piece of coursework on this at A-level, which is strange because usually i never remember anything I learnt back then!) there was a huge problem with people drinking meths and living amongst the rubble of bombed houses. These people were classed as nuisances as all they did was drink bootlegged meths and robbed from people.

Finally got some loo roll, enough for me and 2 elderley neighbours

Delete this quickly though or it’ll spread that’s where to get things from and then there’ll be none there neither haha

Almost nothing in Lidl today. No pasta, rice, potatoes, eggs, tinned stuff. Got some horseradish, tho'!
Thing is, panic buying is started by morons, then all the other morons follow. THERE IS NO SHORTAGE, you arseoles. Just buy your normal amount and the shelves will be full.

Here's a thing:
1.OLD PPL, STAY AT HOME.
2. COME AND SHOP IN OUR SPECIAL OLD FOLKS HOUR.

What?

Would rather see the end of this thread as I think it just spreads more panic and worry, but regardless, pleased to see the change to the thread title.

In a lockdown , people will still be allowed out to shop or they will starve to death.
