Yet some people disregard what are front line staff are saying
i truely despair, people's selfishness will possibly turn themselves into killers, and quite likely their own family members
is it so hard to stay indoors as much as possible for a few weeks ? while others that must go out for their jobs, are putting their lives on the line for others

A predicament. I'm self employed and need to work. I travel from workplace to workplace, throughout the day. I must continue to work, to pay the bills and earn enough to eat. The government who have been excellent so far(I didn't vote for them) seem to be ignoring our plight . My mates are mostly in the same boat and will continue to work, offering their services where needed to feed the family.

5 million is a large chunk to ignore, we will be out there perhaps as a major danger to health in this country. 94 quid wont do it for me. I feel guilt for something that has not happened yet, but what are my alternatives ?
We're not able to assess risks. I feel safe at the moment. I don't think I would if I was in regular contact with a lot of people, and if I had contact with at risk family members that would make it even more difficult. We don't know how long this will last but in terms of the rest of our lives it will be relatively brief. Plenty of time to recover financially, however if people need the money to get food on the table there is no option.

U.K. now ahead of Italy on their curve. We’ve been consistently 15 days behind. Now we’re up to 230+ dead, they were at 197 15 days ago.

Shit’s about to get fucking awful.

I went to the local council tip before had a surgical mask on and a Manchester City scarf covering that. People were walking about talking laughing this off, I tried to explain the severity of this virus all just laughed it of as nothing to serious. Astounded by some people’s lack of education to this terrible disease

They should be reported then they will be fined more than they make. Joots I think it was called. The problem is desperate people will pay it and they know so. If you are in pain and everywhere is sold out people will pay. Better any shop doing such a gang should just storm it and take the lot, serve them right.
They are no better than the collaborators of occupied countries in any of the wars. Absolute scum.

How are you doing at the moment, bud?

I know you recently lost your dad and seeing all this stuff going on, you have had plenty on your plate.

Hope in the not far too distant future you can actually decompress and raise a glass properly.
Just concentrating on my mum and work mate. FaceTime her (without lying) 4 or 5 times a day to ensure she knows she’s not alone. This would have petrified my Dad so I’m glad his last days on earth aren’t consumed by it.

Yep and if they had offered half the 80% that employed people are to get I wouldn't leave the house, and wouldn't be the risk that I will be. Seems a strange decision from the government, perhaps they have factored in the risk and are prepared to accept it. I am definitely not socially unaware o ly financially burdened.

Being there for your mum, your dad clearly did his job right.

Any father would take immense solace knowing their child stepped up when it was needed most.

There is no greater gift we pass on to our children, to know love carries on.

So, there were reports yesterday that up to 1.4 million people would be contacted this weekend to isolate from Monday, if this is true then surely tomorrow has to be the day it all gets announced.

Both of us run the same business. Had to close and have absolutely nothing coming in . Spent the last few days digging over the garden to grow veg. Can't think of anything else to do.

This video may explain why. The title means.
With this many people on the street we are not going to beat this.

It’s insane, day after day Italian doctors and professors on the frontline warning the UK and some others that they have to get this lockdown in place as they have never seen anything like this in their professional lives. I mean they’re not talking in Italian or anything in these interviews and some are pleading with countries to get their social distancing and lockdowns in place to avoid the hell they are experiencing.

Cheers Tolm. I know it’s only words on a screen but they really do mean a great deal. It’s suddenly gone very dusty in here.

Much appreciated. Hell of a start to a decade this.

I'd love to know who thought it was a great idea for the old and folks with underlying health conditions to mingle with health workers at the same time to get food in Tesco and and other Supermarkets.
Just genius.

Think about how fucking stupid that comment is.

No one is getting turned away from Intensive care and sent home.

If you need an intensive care bed and got sent home you would be dead in hours. That's why it's called intensive care.

People who might otherwise be treated in hospital for minor issues are being turned away, mostly because they want to limit the spread of the infection.

You have no idea, 30 year old Woman with kids, sat at home tonight on standby in case she goes into respiratory distress again, as there is no room on the ICU ward in any of the trusts hospitals, I don't care if you don't believe me it is the truth, they also had there first death in the trust today.

No I'm just replying to people too fucking stupid to realise that until we reach max capacity, the difference in our early death rate cannot be due to being over capacity.

I'm not saying its going to be fine, I'm saying that for the conversation about current death rates, ICU beds isnt relevant.

They are at max capacity, the figures are fudged to fuck as they have had a ward full of people in a bad way for 2 weeks and not even announced them locally. Dont be so deluded.

It will come as the public can't be trusted to do it themselves, but probably too late to prevent thousands of deaths if not more.

This from an American lad...

Code:
In my area, government has banned eating in restaurants. Now the restaurant owners are setting up mass compact seating outside and people are flocking to them like flies, including elderly people. Doesn't this defeat the purpose?

Seems some businesses are treating the measures as something to be beaten/circumvented.
