correct that’s why I really struggle with those who say simply lock everything down for 3 or 4 weeks then it will be gone. No it won’t the virus will still be there and in a few weeks time when we all pop out again and we will yo yo through it again Meantime the economy will have gone to absolute shit and then we have years and years of hardship and real austerity for many many millions of people potentially causing more suffering than the virus.
we need to get the balance right I agree we need to flatten the curve to help the initial peak and give the nhs time , but The economy cannot just stop for 6 months and switched back on again.
I think In a few months when we have “turned the tide” as Boris says it will be right you can now start going back to work etc but you must maintain social distancing , hand washing etc.
That's exactly what I noticed this morning. I have ever seen so many people running and walking in tracksuit bottoms. We get the odd jogger outside the house some days, you watch, tomorrow it'll be like the London and New York marathons are being run on the same day......in our street.
Everyone will turn in to Mo Farah overnight and probably off their tits on drugs like him too
Are bin collections still being done?
If they’re not there’ll be a rat infestation too
Or deadThat's exactly what I noticed this morning. I have ever seen so many people running and walking in tracksuit bottoms.
One thing that will happen as a result of this is we as a country will be lot fitter and healthier.... That's if it continues.

Very well said. This country is asking staff in the NHS to take extraordinary personal risks to treat Coronavirus sufferers. Similarly other key workers in schools, supermarkets, care home etc are being asked to put themselves at risk.
The public just doesn’t expect other employees in non critical sectors to take those risks. The government should issue a very strong statement reminding employers of their obligations to protect employees and the public. Make it clear that when this is over HSE and the police will investigate companies that stay open. If there is clear evidence that they haven’t used their best endeavours to protect their staff and customers they will prosecuted as severely as possible, including corporate manslaughter if there is sufficient evidence. Make it clear that if employees are forced to work unnecessarily they will be able to sue their employers for damages if they become seriously ill.
We could play whack-about with lump hammersWhy is Gary Neville knocking about
Almost all of them.
He fails to understand that CFR does not take into account the vast majority of cases which are not recorded. His entire point is based on 100% of real cases being recorded cases which we know is not correct. The actual death rate is now pretty much thought to be around 0.7 to 1% which is bad enough without people scaremongering due to lack of understanding.
Used to love seeing the binmen as a kid, waving at them from the door, getting to have a ride in the cab. I told my daughter to stand at the door today and wave at them. She did and they beeped their horn. Put a spring in my step as I headed to work. Only got 7 kids in school today; parents seem to be heeding advice to keep them at home unless absolutely necessary.tipped mine a fiver yesterday.
Missed the point. He meant the reduction in station staff in London was when Johnson was mayor.
I cannot believe that is true. If it IS true then the UK death toll will be dramatically higher than everyone elses and then everyone in the government will lose their jobs, at best. And probably much more severe consequences than that.UK government is just pretending they are closing things, only because there is a pressure on them to do so. They deliberately left numerous loopholes for little to change with these "new" rules. They're still up to herd immunity, but in disguise and in speed the public pressure let them.
"On hearing ill rumour that Londoners may soon be urged into their lodgings by Her Majesty’s men, I looked upon the street to see a gaggle of striplings making fair merry, and no doubt spreading the plague well about. Not a care had these rogues for the health of their elders!"

YesHas anyone else had a text to stay in?
Been told i can work from home 2 days a week but have to go into the office the other 3 days.
This coronavirus is weird, it's dodgy on Tuesdays & Wednesdays so i can stay at home then but obviously Monday, Thursday & Friday are virus free.
My company should tell W.H.O as i don't think they realise this breakthrough
