Spain has 650k rapid testing kits that they've just received. 6k proved faulty - supplied by an unauthorised manufacturer. If these work, then if the supply can be ramped up, it will change everything. Is this what lies behind Trump's plans to get the States back open?

I don't think his plan is to open the US up without regard for the consequences, but to use the new antibody test and America's vast testing capacity to selectively remove the lockdown and get the counties that are largely unaffected back to work again, whilst continuing to practice the safe distancing regime. Each county will be designated as low/medium/high risk and will have measures in place appropriate to the classification. Seems like a perfectly sensible plan to me.

I didn’t think that Prince Charles have been allowed to jump the queue. If he had self isolated and it turned out to be a false alarm then so what?

I don’t think there’s any valid comparison with that and the PM getting a test. It seems to me to be pure common sense that he is tested

On the 14th january the WHO claimed there was no clear evidence that CV19 could be transmitted from human to human. It then took them until March 11th to declare it a pandemic. Not imposing travel bans during that time certainly helped the virus to spread around the world.
