Why is it not rampant there yet? Also in African countries? Is it possible the heat in those places slow it down?

I know it has warmed up in Spain now and it doesnt seem to be helping there. Has it been ruled out entirely that this virus will struggle in hot weather?

If it does take a hold in massive Asian and African cities it will be absolutely terrible.

Tbh I’ve not seen any concrete evidence that heat will stall the virus. I’m not convinced anybody knows enough about it at this point.

I trust and believe these shipments were not sent out knowingly being faulty just like the faulty virus test kits they sent out to Spain last week although it could be a symptom of the Chinese PR division coming up with quick fire ideas without thinking through all the safety checks they need to make.

I don’t go on social media other than a local interest FB page which I produce.

To be fair, I get enough debate on coronavirus from Bluemoon. We have input from loads of posters, not just from the UK, many of whom are thoughtful and well informed. There’s plenty of peer scrutiny, so any bollox “facts” are quickly challenged. Most of the politically motivated and more argumentative stuff was floated off to a different thread. If you don’t agree with someone’s views, it’s easy enough to argue back or even ignore. Skirmishes are temporary and stay within reasonable bounds.

All in all, I’d say this is a pretty balanced and interesting thread.

I can't be sure but i assume it is simply an issue of reporting and testing, or lack thereof. It will kick off badly in these places i suspect. They do not have, in Nepal for example, a strong media infrastructure or well provisioned health service. It will get a lot worse most likely.

Their expertise in the field and comprehensive data collection and monitoring programs are second to none which other countries can’t do to the same extent will prove useful as long as they exchange the correct scientific data and stats with everyone!
