i got it in december christmas time i now that because i missed the 2 games at home to everton and sheff utd and funny enough the lady i sit next to also come down with it and missed the 2 games and she does not live near me ? so maybe we both got it and spread it at the games ?? i just don't know what it was but if like anything you are saying about spreading it going to football would be worst than anything else

No. You didn't.

Because if you spread it in games then by mid January, there'd be 100 people dead in the UK from a never before seen pneumonia.

Not convinced Chippy mate, I think it might have got here just before Xmas with people coming from China. I had something suspicious at the beginning of Feb that took a good three weeks to throw off, and it was mild. I am convinced I either picked it up in Malaga or at the airport coming back where I sat in the middle of about 200 italians waiting for a flight with Milan.

The more I hear the more I think there is a chance I have had the bugger.

If it does turn out that I did have it I will consider myself extremely lucky to have got off so lightly and only the fact I wold rarely be at all lucky makes me think it was something else.

You didn't have it. It's literally not possible.

If you did, then you'd have spread it and the person you got it from would have spread it, and the UK would have been the epicentre for coronavirus.

By mid-February there'd be a string of mysterious pneumonia deaths and hospitalisations that triggered the same alarms that got triggered in China after 27 people got hospitalised by a strange flu.

Same thing isn’t it?

At 3 weeks and 2 days since the first death
Numbers -
UK deaths - 1415
Italy - 2158 (10779 today)
Spain - 831 (7340)

Next few days very critical as both countries jumped significantly after this.
Wow, we have almost double the deaths Spain had at this point.

Anybody else find this casual way that we're sometimes seeing of talking about “the Chinese virus” as thoroughly distasteful, and borderline racist? God knows, I have no love for the Chinese authorities, having worked in China for a year and seen close up just how paranoid the authorities are about any circulation of information that they're not totally in control of. But the Chinese didn't invent the bloody thing so as to make the rest of the world ill! If I were ethnically Chinese (or rather, Han), I'd resent it intensely.
But then, history if full of crisis periods when demonisation takes place.
Haha. Bait at one end of the line. Flake holding the rod. Mates fighting over the landing net.

I'd have like to highlight some parts but for some reason I couldn't. Anyway, there appears to be some opposing points Dr Li, was warning of H2H transmission on 30/12, the bulletin from the Chinese in Wuhan the next day states it's not a problem. Reading the full release from the WHO it apears to have been pretty much copy and paste from the Chinese bulletin.

I'd agree about the guidance from the WHO , from what I can remember, it was something along the lines of it causes more problems than good! Astounding in reflection.

Edit by end of Dec there had been 27 cases 7 serious.
Just to correct you. China had officially stated there were 27 cases 7 of which were serious.
What it was in actuality is unknown. As is the number of people who barely had or didn't have any symptoms.
You really can't believe a single word the Chinese government says.

As are mine, but they originally configured the volume control to up the pressure if required (as when I first got it they weren't sure what the best settings were for me) and they never locked it down because I always get bronchitis when I get a cold and need to increase it a couple of notches.
Mmmmm . I wonder if there is a hack?
Stay safe bud . Bronchitis doesn't sound to clever at the moment...

Arguing if you had it or not is no use to anyone. If it wasn't diagnosed at the time no-one will know for sure unless the antibody test is done retrospectively

I imagine the Chinese could well be responsible for covering up initially. I suppose my point was that this is not specifically a Chinese government trait.
When they had the train bomb attack in Madrid years ago, the government decided to blame ETA, despite evidence to the contrary. And the UK and US and everybody else do the same sort of thing, often using the phrase in the interests of national security.
It’s not just about what they did after the outbreak, but just as much about what they appear to have failed to do before.
