Over in New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo says the number of coronavirus cases in the state has increased to 83,712. This is up from 75,795 from a day earlier

The number of coronavirus deaths in New York state has increased to 1,941 (up from 1,550 a day earlier), the governor says.

Sharma answers a question about comparisons with Germany's rate of testing. He says "We are trying to do something at huge scale very fast but we're making progress...and we're determined to make sure have the supply and can provide support

Sky's Beth Rigby asks for number of frontline NHS staff who have been tested.

Dr Doyle says the number of tests is increasing but there is capacity for more. Five centres will be completed where people can drive through and get tests. The aim is to get to hundreds of thousands "In the coming weeks".

Also, why is taking so long for reality to match the rhetoric regarding the number of antibody tests, she asks

Sharma says we're "urgently evaluating that test and it is an absolute priority". He says the accuracy of the test is important - it's important we get that right before we launch the test itself

Dr Doyle speaks again about the antibody tests. She says "we're not dragging our feet" but the accuracy of the tests has to be certain.

As soon as we can we want to be out there doing these tests, she says.

Germany have conducted just under a million tests and are now hitting the 500,000 a week target. New target is 1.4 million a week.

Australia have done 250,000 tests which is the same population ratio as Germany. Our number is around 150,000.

US is on a par with us in terms of tests per population. New York and LA though are testing on a par with Germany.

Watching CNN every day for an hour or so it is incredible to listen to the spin, sorry lies , falsification, misinterpretation spoken by many Republican politicians.

Stuff, you would have expected from Russia or China, not emitting from the land of the free. Total incompetence.
It is much better balanced during the night, the new york guy is the brother of one of the guys that has his own show,he is doing a live show whilst having covid, they go round the states to see what is happening, have experts to answer questions and take to a front line worker every night
