Because Vitamin D is good for the living of cells in the alveoli where the fight with COVID-19 takes place.

I’ll be getting my deck chair out and sitting by my back door tomorrow.

People can sit in their gardens, get a cushion and sit on their doorstep if they don’t have a garden, go for a jog or walk... just make sure to socially distance at all times.
Yeah i know that, sensible people will continue to be sensible but i fear another rush to beauty spots ir the beach on mass

Hong Kong flu killed 1million. It had a low mortality rate but was highly contagious.

Very similar to Covid-19 then. This is highly contagious but the death rate is very low as clearly there are up to 1000 unreported cases for every reported case.

The thing then was there wasn't a lockdown. You got it and survived or not.

That is the worry, lots of idiots will go out and about for hours on end and run the risk of not socially distancing.

That's not true either though is it? I know people who have recovered but went through an agonising, hellish couple of weeks in bed and were never tested. Just because they survived it doesn't mean their symptoms weren't severe.
It you don’t need hospitalisation, you’re classed as having ‘mild’ symptoms.

There was a thread from a covid survivor posted last week which went into great detail about it was the worst illness he’s ever had but was officially classed as ‘mild’ as he didn’t require hospitalisation.

Sunscreen factor 50 and long sleeves or the other fucker will get you and always make sure you stand at least 2 meters away from the surface of the sun.

Our daughter works at a local farm shop that incorporates a butchers and a cafe. The cafe closed as requested but the manager of the shop offered to keep some of the waiting staff on in the shop/butchers helping out. All but one turned him down and went for the 80%. After a few days these staff started to say, on a chat line they had set up, that they were all bored. The manager asked if they could come in and do odd jobs to help keep the place running (the butchery is only open for phone/online orders and boxes are brought out at a set time to your car) they all said they would only come in if they got overtime and it was cash in hand. The manager is very disappointed as he, and the few staff remaining, are working very hard to keep the business afloat. If it were me in charge I would be looking for new staff when I reopened fully.

Both bouts of flu I had when I was in my teens (see my earlier post) were terrible but I wasn't hospitalised either time. I was in bed for over two weeks, shaking uncontrollably, crawling to the toilet and at times hallucinating. It makes me laugh when people with a bit of a cold say they have the flu..

One frightening one I read is that, on average, 7 people die every year of Black Death.
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/435142001

Imagine if that **** kicked off now there are 7.7 billion of us!

While COVID-19 is an exceptional novel virus, we aren’t yet seeing exceptional numbers of deaths in the country compared to any other normal day.
Are we not? Do we know that for sure?

I know when El Pais looked into Spanish death figures, their additional deaths (compared to normal) were nearly double but with only 1/3rd of the excess officially being designated as CV19 being the cause.

One would think that 700 CV19 deaths in a day is around a 50% increase on the UK’s daily average death figures and I’m sure the numbers aren’t yet available for this week to compare with a normal first week of April.

Yep I used to be one of those people who said that. Then I properly had it a couple of years ago. Not a pleasant experience as you say. I think at one stage I slept for about 40 hours in 48. And it wasnt nice restful sleep either!

As soon as I heard about cases of Covid-19 in the UK, I bought around 400 vitamin D capsules and manuka honey (MGO 525). I take multi vitamins and tup with extra D

Always said these companies should never be anywhere in hospitals.
Any when the contract up for renewal go back to the way it was
Southport and Ormskirk NHS

Trust has had to restrict visitors due to Covid-19

An NHS trust has been told it will have to pay almost £10,000 a month to provide families with free phone calls during the pandemic.

Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust has had to restrict visitors due to Covid-19.

It asked the company that provides bedside telephones about diverting the costs to the trust and was told it would be charged £9,984 a month.

Hospedia was contacted by the BBC but has not commented.

The trust said it was disappointed with the company's suggested charges and has raised the matter with NHS England, which awarded it the contract to provide phone and TV services across dozens of NHS trust
Irene Simpkin's 87-year-old mother Odile has been in Southport and Formby District General Hospital for almost a fortnight after suffering multiple pelvis and hip fractures in a fall.

She made a 16-minute call to her mum and said she was charged £11.33.

thought that it was flipping outrageous, just horrendous. I just think it's very, very greedy," she said.

"There are so many people making concessions, why do these companies continue to cash in?

"While all this is going on, can they not just make some sort of a deal where they cut those costs?"

Hospedia uses premium-rate 0872 phone lines, which is the prefix often used for tarot readings or adult entertainment calls.

The company's website says its operates in more than 130 NHS sites and offers TV units, which attract a daily fee, and premium rate telephones at a patient's bedside.

According to its latest accounts, profits increased nearly six-fold last year to more than £2.5m.

Rosie Cooper, MP for West Lancashire and a member of the health select committee, said she had written to Health Secretary
Matthew Hancock asking what can be done about the call costs.

"I am disgusted that this company is looking to profit off what is an incredibly difficult time for patients, family members and NHS staff," she said.

Fucking scum cunts.

to be fair. They could just say anyone along the beach front or on the beach will get a £50 fine.
Why? There’s nothing wrong with taking a walk along the Prom if you live there so long as you’re socially distancing. My wife and I took our dog for a 5km walk this morning along the beach and didn’t get with about 20ft of another soul.
