Really??? Seems massively premature considering their death rates are still rising. To imagine they will be over their peak and back to nominal infection rates on only 2 weeks, seems hugely optimistic.
Tbf, aren't they largely automated these days? Might just be that they think they can run production whilst also maintaining social distancing

Funny you should say that. Went for a walk with Mrs N last night and we noticed dig dirt on the pavement. Never saw this before where I live. Pretty disgusting.

You have a dig ?

This is so true. On my run I see so much more dog shit than before the lockdown, so before people start slagging off runners, maybe dog walkers are more deserving of peoples anger
Another thing that pisses me off.
People pick the dog shit up then hang it on a tree or chuck it in the woods.
How thick are people

The figures are still being manipulated IMO, in one instance 15 elderly people died in a care home in England and 10 of them weren't tested to see whether they died of the coronavirus because "it will not change the public health management".

How many more older people die that are being discounted by authorities? The death figure is a lot more than is being reported if these care homes across the country are losing residents this way.

They aren't being manipulated at all. It’s been explained many times the death figures will lag as those outside hospitals will take a while to be added. Nobody is denying at some point they will need to be added. Similar to France where they now have odd days when huge numbers are added to the daily figures causing big spikes .

Read the piece, they are being discounted they are not going to be tested and will not be a part of the figures. So ergo they are being manipulated.

This is where we've lost our moral compass. I've just watched Newsnight and the final piece was about how few "vulnerable" children are accessing their "rightful" place at school. School is a place where children should come to be educated, but instead it's simply a place to escape inadequate parenting, hence their "rightful" place. I fucking despair. Without getting too atavistic, my mum and dad's parents (owners of the square root of fuck all) wouldn't dream of not looking after them; of not providing the basics - love, care, food, warmth. We reap what we fucking sow. And arseholes like these two scrotes are what we've reaped. As Psychadelic says, let's just put everyone out of societal misery and have done with these cunts. I'm too tired; too worn out by them.
Nice moral high ground about inadequate parents. The piece was about the victims of abusive parenting.

I hope they are using a scrap scheme to sell those cars I can’t see many takers in the world for them at the moment. The car industry was decimated in 2008 I would imagine the same but worse this time around.

Two weeks ago I posted that I had driven a train into Central London that would normally carry a thousand commuters but only had fifty-three on it when it arrived at 07:33.

This morning I drove the same train and it only had fifty-five. So no real change there, thankfully.
No-one has parked at our local station for 2 weeks. Normally over a hundred cars there. I suspect many may be driving direct to work.

Current government advice on mass gatherings...

"This advice is intended for people or organisations attending or arranging mass gatherings.

In line with the social distancing guidance it is advised that large gatherings should not take place. While the risks of transmitting the disease at mass gatherings are relatively low, these steps will also allow emergency services that would have been deployed for these events to be prioritised in alleviating pressure on public services."

True, it's from 16 March - after the Cheltenham races and after football stopped - but it's still there.

I live in a small town in the north east. Lock down pretty much adhered to round here. Local facebook pages have photos of small groups of kids gathering and some naming and shaming going on. Seems to be doing the trick but not everyone happy. Could turn nasty I guess.
