It does read as if it had been written in haste. Perhaps they’ll put a fuller and more explanatory version out later.
I have read till the end when it talks about it needs a blood test in a lab ,too much for a pin prick test and testing stations are not set up for that,i know it is exciting to read new things happening but I can't help but think it about it practically and like you say things are being written in haste and I also find the headlines don't really match the stories often, but like city stories!

Yes, everything seems to be a 'game changer' in theory.

You might be interested in this article. Rather long, but it highlights problems that are already arising as countries gear up to the practical challenges of supplying a(ny) mass vaccine. These are the questions journalists should be asking politicians at press conferences.

Go on, say it Karen ;)

HSJ understands that up to 50,000 of the tests that will be reported as having taken place on 30 April will actually represent the mailing or the agreeing to mail a home testing kit

It is a sham,i am surprised anyone is taken in
And your point is what exactly? You're beginning to sound like Jeremy Corbyn.

Most people would regard getting from where we were to even 50,000 in a matter of a couple of weeks is pretty fucking amazing, let alone the 100,000 which may or may not be questionable.

How about a round of applause for that.

Daily briefing

Mid May there will be contract tracing in place, people and apps ,get and keep down R so we can lift lockdown

No lift of lockdown till it is safe

Will give us back out freedom when they can

We went into lockdown not because we had no tests,it would have been done at the same time,do not compare to the likes of Germany

The testing will be used to stop the spread of infection and to help those in the front line

Medical

Five tests repeated

People working at home,45%

Movement of people,up a little

New cases,up a bit,more testing

Patients in hospital,falling

Critical care patients,falling

Daily tests,increased dramaticaly

Deaths,all settings,7 daily rolling figures,trend down

Global deaths, worst in Europe on the slide shown

I haven't seen the press briefing but I can smell the bullshit around these test figures.

I really hope they are true numbers but to get from where we were a week ago to exceeding the target on the very final day of he month stinks to high heaven.

The tories have been in for over a decade and destroyed the health services and everything to do with planning with austerity, whose fault is it
Maybe, but the current plan was put in place in 2006 as a result of SARS. Lessons learnt? NO.

Got us to the top of the death league and reacted so quick to this virus, keep on clapping sonny, I'll pass.

I know. Still very high numbers of people getting infected/ dying compared to other countries

We probably have a higher % of the population with the virus and as such, more tests will result in more positive results. We're reporting deaths from all settings whereas most countries are still just reporting hospital deaths, plus a higher number of infections, will result in a higher number of deaths.

That's my understanding anyway.

Either that or our NHS are a bit shit ;-)
