Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

Why should they pay back the SKY money if it’s null and void, just take it out of next seasons money, a bit like Ryanair giving you a voucher, let SKY make a charge back.

I'll expect my season ticket refund soon then as seen as that is THE plan.

Convinced they are holding on until they know what will happen next season in an attempt to keep as many renewing as possible

Instead of talking on here get of you're arses and start lobbying you're MP , you're local councillor the newspapers, radio stations other footbal forums and anyone who will listen
Start a petition to make parliament debate it, all you need is 100000 names
The more noise you make the more people will come on board.
Its up to the public to force it because the powers that be, wont.

"The integrity of the game"

Neutral venues, taking away home advantage, don't address that issue. How is fair, for example, that we had to play at Anfield and they don't have to play at ours? Same goes right the way down the table of course.

Points per game doesn't address it either. The very essence of football is it's unpredictability, it's why we watch it for fuck sake! We wouldn't have won the league in 2011/12 at this stage if that was to happen I imagine nor in 2013/14 or even last season with the 14 on the bounce. Sunderland in 2013/14 would have been relegated with that formula instead of what actaully happened when the won at Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford and drew away to us to stay up. Leicester would have been relegated the season before they won the league...

The contract issue that has seemingly been shoved away; players don't have to agree to any extension. You can't guarantee a players fitness but you completely take away their chance to play althogether if their contract is up.

There has only been one solution the entire time; cancel the season.

You can't have a third team promoted from the Championship fairly, how's that in-keeping with integrity? You also can't scrap relegation but crown a Champion, how's that maintain integrity?

If the government sign off on restarting football and putting countless lives at risk, taking away PPE from the NHS and tests from the general public in order to fuflill a few football matches then they deserve every piece of tragdey that should personally befall them.

I said this in previous post, needs a huge fan movement to derail project restart.

It should focus on project restart being nothing to do with integrity, just MONEY

Playing behind closed doors is a sanction for clubs not abiding the regulations.

Just because PL want to finish the season doesnt mean they can just sit around

and devise a system that finishes the season and announce thats what everyone

wants. I certainly havent voted for it. The PL stakeholders meeting, were any fan

organisations participating/invited to project restart? The question to the PL should

be why are you different to the lower end of footballing tail in England.........MONEY.

Money to pay for testing, more testing and of course those costly testing machines.

Yet when the lockdown came, as thousands dying of Covid 19, Spurs and Liverpool

furloughed non playing staff so ultimately taxpayer could help them out financially.

It was the huge negative media onslaught that ensured Liverpool and Spurs had to

back down and apologise to the fans. Project restart needs similar campaign to see

them back down in shame. The country needs to be very careful that a second spike

does not lead to second wave and further tragic deaths. Country doesn't need some

contrived tv mini series of behind closed doors to finish PL season, only the PL does.

Sends a very poor message to the people who will be struggling to make ends meet

that the obscene business model that is the PL , can contrive and pay to get its way.
