Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

At least One game will be meaningless

Well just imagine that one team is outside the relegation zone on goal difference and have played all their games. Two teams play each other on the last day and they know if they draw one is guaranteed a champions league spot and the other leapfrogs the other team and stays safe. What would happen.

Whilst unlikely it “could” happen and that’s why they should never start a season with an odd number. Fixtures are set at the start. There’s no way of knowing the permutations on the last game. However in most seasons there are issues to be resolved on the last day.

What about the lower league teams that would rely on the Cup matches?
On the plus side they won't be patronised as being romantic in cups until the big sides arrive & then get dumped to highlights.

Seriously, whatever we end up with there's been zero consideration for lower league teams all through this pandemic & that's a bigger disgrace than trying to get the dips over the line.

Let LFC have it, I dont care anymore. As long as they dont use PPE and testing for footballers! Its been disgusting watching that club putting titles before lives, they deserve this particular title.

Anyway it means we keep our records and *Liverpool will not be remembered.

I'm a bit the same, who cares - just give them the fucking thing and stick it up there ass.

Fed up of it now tbh, start football when it's safe - sick of people trying to bulldoze it back. I can honestly say there has not been a moment in the last 2 months, where I've really been desperate to see football return behind closed doors.

Why not just amalgamate all eleven tiers of the FA and have a big, fuck-off one thousand nine hundred and ninety-three team Division 1. If we can get Bury back off their arse we can make it 1994 teams and nobody would need a free weekend. The only thing that might scupper that would be say something like a pandemic, which would prevent travel but I can't see that happening...

I may be in the minority but I would prefer they end it all today, even if that means awarding the title to Liverpool. I am tired of hearing all these crazy ways of finishing the season which puts money before lives. At least if it is finished now, it was done so on as much as a level playing field as possible (yes VAR, I know, I know). It takes away the behind closed door nonsense, the ridiculous neutral venue talk and this long unplanned break in the season, which for me means starting the league again just removes what little integrity is left in this campaign.

I have a feeling today will be the day that a decision is at least leaked out.

They'll be given the title either way but at least there'll be closure.

This should be in the joke thread. Nearly choked. It would mean that every team would have to play 10 games a day. Unless they played two teams at once??

Emailed the club this afternoon asking for a refund on the Madrid tickets, it took them just 9 minutes to reply saying they have processed the refund!!!
If anyone needs the money or wants a refund i emailed mancity@mancity.com with my supporter number.

Thanks for that! Did they say there would be any stipulations around it? Maybe a stupid question I know but just making sure

Heard from a friend of my lad's with connections to the club that the caterers have been told to prepare for a re-start early June.

Let them have it.
Bingo and The Victims PL Championsish 19/20*“
Well done.
This title means more. (Than the NHS)
Let’s think of a headline. Three shiny trophies all theirs. Emily Bishop’s son comes up with the headline to sum up their glorious triumph in front of an empty Klanfield:
“Treble without applause.”
Hmmmmmm I wonder if him or one of the other piece of verminous skip rat loving media scumbags would dare.
