I think this is spot on and saw exactly this all over around where I live. Most people started with good intentions and socially distancing. As the booze flowed though it was quickly forgotten. Think people used yesterday as a real release, including the kids as they’ve been cooped up for 7 weeks now. Let’s just hope we don’t see the consequences in 2/3 weeks time.

exactly this, for as long as I can remember the vast majority of people haven't given a toss about VE day, now it is a big deal to show respect, it was just an excuse for a knees up. My sister had a 'social distance party'and was dressed in Union Jacks, guarantee after 9pm there was absolutely no distancing there and about 20 kids in the garden all mixing. Humans ( unless forced by a communist state ) will not isolate and respect the rules, well the majority anyway. The lockdown is just to slow it down a bit.

My mates in England can't wait till monday for some reason, the general attitude is the virus has gone because the lockdown is being eased.

Yes defo, I know we were guilty of this yesterday. Sat with neighbors on the street and drank, laughed, talked, got drunk together. Kids played as well with others. Me and the wife woke up this morning and both said we shouldn’t of let that happen, but got caught up in the moment. Back to isolation today and the back garden.
I got leathered yesterday in two VE street parties, one early doors and one that was ongoing on my way home and it had gone dark. Everyone socially distanced properly though, i thought all locals did well. Nice to see and totally in contrast to the wankers i deal with and see in work for the last month.

It looks like their in for a shock then unless their gardeners
The lockdown stays for a further 3 weeks and after that who knows.
The tone of the minister today suggest it will be many weeks on top of that
What needs to happen tomorrow is for Borìs to stop pussy footing around and put the nation back on a full lockdown.
Make it abundantly clear, that he and not the press/media runs this country and stop all the leaks and briefing out of government meetings.

He won't do though will he, he wants to be seen as the good guy in this.

Yesterday was an absolute piss take, I left the house once at around 6:30pm as usual to walk the dog and people were out everywhere having parties.
Now i understand the weather was good and that it was a bank holiday but for fucks sake why ?????????
Lets face it the weather has been wonderful for the last few weeks and sadly many people have been off work due to Furlough so what made yesterday so special that so may people decided to fuck it all off?

Selfish bastards, hope they are happy in a few weeks when the number of cases increases again.

Been a few days, but they are predicing herd immunity for Stockholm by mid June with 40% having been infected. Thats in a population of 2.3M. At the moment 9500 have been hospitalized. It will be interesting to see what that number is in mid June because it might give an indication of the size of a second peak in other countries as they come out of lockdown.

More importantly they are getting the situation in care homes under control. That's been the difference between Stockholm and the rest of Sweden. Even though they locked down the care homes early, it still got in.

Nationally deaths down to about 40% of the peak, now. Less than 500 people in ICU, the first time in over a month.
I think what you have done in Sweden is fascinating. It's a huge gamble but it will be remarkable if you carry it off. I think it would be politically impossible for any UK Government to have taken such a big risk with people's lives. I can't imagine the pressure the Swedish government leaders have been under with a policy which is the opposite of the rest of Europe. We won't know who was right for at least another six months.

Could both be right what works in Sweden probably wouldn’t work here without completely swamping the NHS particularly in the very heavily populated cities and crowded public transport systems.

More than 2,100 nightclubs, hostess bars and discos in South Korea's capital have been shut after 18 new coronavirus cases - with all but one linked to a 29-year-old man
Last weekend, people went back to entertainment venues after the government relaxed some social distancing guidelines

Opening up is going to be really difficult without this kind of tracing

Just went shop for some bits. Filled me with rage. Saw one picnic with two couples in their late 30s. One of the women was pregnant ffs. Loads of groups of people together too. So many just simply don't care anymore. I'm so fed up of this country. We're surrounded by morons and being lead by cowards. Its utterly pathetic.

My dad couldn't even attend his sister's funeral and you've got all those cunts having street parties, doing the fucking conga together. Hordes of pricks gathering on bridges to clap the NHS and get a video for social media to show how much they pretend they care. Bet they were dead happy with the likes they got. Absolutely no consequences at all. Absolutely nothing from the government to prevent it either. No urgent messages prior to VE day to discourage any street parties to reinforce the rules. No messages to stop the bridge gatherings. Just shite pointless daily press conferences that most have given up on watching just to repeat how well they're doing. Police have given up too. So many have.

Meanwhile this fucking fool right here hasn't seen his dad to offer any condolences. Hasn't broken any of the rules. Whats the point? Should have just gone round for a BBQ. Fuck the rules, fuck the virus hey. All be dead one day hey. I am totally and utterly done with this country. We're an embarrassing, thick as pigshit, bigoted little mess. There are decent people making huge sacrifices for no reason. Every day we're being slapped in the face. Nowt done to stop it either.

That's a good point. It confirms my view that Scandanavian countries are generally great places to spend time. They are not overcrowded, they have amazing public services (especially transport), and people seem a lot healthier....despite drinking copious amounts of alcohol.

You need to try and chill a bit mate, all this rage and anger isn’t good for you. I’ve seen your posts on the mental health thread too and personally I’d suggest you need to change your routine somewhat, we are all well aware of what is going on out there on the streets but you shouldn’t be allowing yourself to have such huge mood swings.

Boris Johnson will seek to persuade Britain's top bosses on Sunday that his strategy for easing the coronavirus lockdown will pave the way for a swift economic fightback
His discussions with the leaders of some of the UK's biggest companies will come amid signs of growing unrest in the private sector over the government's plans to kickstart the economy.

What exactly do you suggest? Never go out and never go online? Avoid all contact with humans? I'm sick to death of people. This has already affected people I love and no doubt will affect many more in the coming months due to their behaviour. Fuck em all.
