Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

At least another two months of lockdown which takes us past the June 1st cut off date for starting up again.

I can't wait to see what pearls of wisdom the pricks in the press and the premier league come out with next.

Null and void getting closer I reckon.

The physical rigours of the elite football environment have an effect on players' immune systems which have always them susceptible to viruses. Covid-19 is no different.

'Professional players have been shown to be regularly immunosuppressed,' former Chelsea doctor Dr Eva Carneiro told me four weeks ago.

'This has been demonstrated by both blood tests and the rate and incidence of upper respiratory tract and other infections, which is how a virus like this starts. That's due to the amount of sport they play.’

so as long as only 1 city player dies it will be ok to watch some football to pass the time ?
 
Going to have to scrap it now. Lockdown measures until atleast June and people flying here need two weeks quarantine. Lot of our players probably flew out before lockdown
 
After Boris's speech realistically this season is over and no-one knows when the next one will start. Shame about our fa cup and chumps league campaigns but I'm sure we'll be in the best position of any club to come back strong.
 
the premier league is over as of tonight ? with the new rules and no team sports/football unless it with your family. and july at the latest for mixed sports and also 14 days of quarantine for anybody coming back into the uk

the premier league must come out in the morning and declare the season over and void and hope the start on the 2020/21 season can start on time. forget the title going to liverpool how can it be just handed over and relegation and promotion be the same out come only cancel and void will work from here on in. it would be tainted both ways for the title was handed over to liverpool ? other fans would have the leading hands in saying nope you never won it proper and the season was never finished

Hmmm,brave man telling it as it is,and which should have been from the start,maybe the penny will drop for the rest of the media in this desperate pursuit of get the league restarted at all costs,for the vast majority of these ghouls and that’s tv companies,football media in general and certain clubs and officials,money is the be all and end all and is far more important than thousands losing their lives to this virus,what a bunch of bastards..
