Good analysis of death profiles from ons in april.

the risk factor of age is incredible .
Found this really interesting . Quite a few graphs showing us the amount of people that have died with pre existing conditions.
This isn`t a question aimed at you KHW, but has anyone come across any graphs that show how many people with each of the main pre existing conditions listed in in the article actually survive percentage wise.

well whatever I say you’ll disagree.

personally I find The Times, FT and Independent, the economist, Reuters pretty balanced.

broadcast wise the BBC; seen as every right wing hothead labels the BBC as ‘leftwing biased’ and every left wing hothead says ‘it’s right wing government funded’!

, we are straying into politics so will leave it.

Absolutely disgusting from the Daily Mail, I knew they were a joke - but didn't think they would sink to this level.

It's all a bit dulce et decorum est isnt it?

I had. Hence my question as you seemed to have missed the point being made about why teachers are concerned.

well they are right to be concerned.

but ultimately , our children need educating. Like you need treating by nhs workers if you need to go to hospital , or serving at a supermarket by supermarket workers.

if you are concerned ,perhaps study examples of how children going back to school has caused spikes or teachers to contract it. Sweden has had schools open throughout have teachers died?

Other countries are realising the importance of getting the kids back to school and the risks associated with it. it would be odd if the uk couldn’t find a way through it.

Sometimes I think people assume Covid is a uk only issue and only the uk are trying to get things back to normal, whereas the rest of the world are still welded in their homes.

if you want to counter by saying , yeah but look at our deaths, I would simply refer you back to the ONS data on deaths by age and underlying condition. As it’s very relevant in evaluating risk.

The media creates that divide. That’s their objective. Papers like The Daily Mail and The Sun are feeding poison into our society. There’s nothing tedious about standing against that.

“Some papers are against Hiter, some are for him. It’s just the way the world is. Bashing the Mail for this is tedious.”

See how this retort doesn’t quite hold up?

The SNP supported the Nazis, and the Republic Of Ireland enjoyed a fairly close relationship with the 3rd Reich, in fact they signed a book on condolence after Hitlers reported death. Singling out the DM is just point scoring bud.

And guess what? They’re were all a ****ing disgrace.

I’m highlighting about The Daily Mail because that’s the paper we’re talking about.

Is this the world we live in now where disgusting rags like that paper are being defended and getting on their case results in being accused of ‘points scoring’?

Unbelievable.

It's a popular paper, you might not like it and I see it as a comic, full of tattle. What I don't and wont do is refer back to the second world war and use that as an example of their editorial stance now.

I don't know of one paper or news outlet that isn't tainted by money right now.

Tbf, it is their editorial stance now.

you are the one who brought up the daily mail. Nobody was defending them at all, it’s a shite paper.

I have never seen a single poster on bluemoon saying that The daily mail is a good read.

We were having a debate about how tiresome politics and the media has become as it’s so partisan and you thought posting a 100 year old headline from the daily mail with hitler on it added to the general debate?

now you are having imaginary arguments with voices in your head about people supporting the daily mail?

My comments were in relation to horrific Daily Mail headlines about teachers and unions which were actively being discussed.

I know the thread is trying to move away from this topic but even if teachers were ordered to go back to work, is there any evidence to suggest parents are also willing to send their kids back? The government thought pupils weekly attendance would be at 20%, yet it’s only just above 2%.

My eldest daughter has had an email asking if she wants to send her children to school.
