Before I was forced to take early retirement through my disability I was an NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier in Distribution and Warehousing.I`ll never forget when those young people received their Qualifications and their parents thanking me for helping their kids achieve their first Qualification in anything,having gone through education and done nothing.In the main that was down to that individual hating school for whatever reason.
Like yourself it must be so gratifying in helping our kids to achieve their potential and then go on to bigger things.

Good luck with that.

Great first journalist question about if they are ignoring health advice to get kids back in school. Naturally Williamson is not answering and spouting soundbites.

Opening schools plan,insincere sorry to pupils (sneaky )kids must be back in school,limited return for some pupils from june 1st
I know teachers and parents are anxious,prioritising reception years 1 and 6,smaller class sizes also secondary kids in years ten and twelve
Some want to delay opening ,they know it is best for kids to be back,safest place and happiest place for a lot of them,disadvantaged kids will fall behind,(full on guilt tripping)other countries are opening
Testing for teachers and staff can already happen(?),from June first kids and families can get tested if they show symptoms,rigorous hygiene
This is based on scientific advice,they need to be with their friends,talk to other kids,we owe it to them etc

Teachers,consider yourself guilt tripped

Transport use starting to go up now but mostly low

Tests,as above,confirmed cases are starting to trend downwards

Hospital admissions,maintain slow downward trend,critical care beds usage is downward trend

Patients in hosps,some areas flat ,some down,overall trend is down

Deaths,7 day rolling average shows slow decline

It’s what I fully expected tbh, all the travel sites, Airbnb, airlines etc, all making sure their t’s and c’s only up to end of June or so, hoping that we can try and have a “normal(ish)” summer.
 
I wonder how many of these ministers would change their tune if they knew they were going to be held responsible for the actions they are making or about to make?

They don't have a choice. The Germans and the Dutch are enforcing ECB loans on them at relatively high rates of interest that have to be paid back relatively quickly.

The absolute cheek of Williamson to intimate that the wellbeing of children is driving the government push for schools to returns. I'm pretty sure that's the main concern for the vast majority of head teachers and teaching staff. Understandably they are also concerned about their own safety.

Phased return for schools by area? Will be keeping an eye on the R in each area,SAGE will be looking at in detail

Should diabetics be put on the shielding list? Being reviewed,many are obese,have heart disease so the public need to look at their weight

How do school governors sort out advice from you but not the same from local councils ? Best way of giving kids the best opportunities in life they need to be back at school,our advice is clear

What if the R goes up and what number would reverse your decision ? Several modelers come up with the R number,it does vary in different areas,if they go up in that area it might not be schools,might be any parts of the community,gov would decide about schools with SAGE advice,a small change in R is predicted,it might need extra measures not reversing school decision

Kids and social distancing? Smaller class sizes,proper hygiene and cleaning,minimizing contact and mixing,max 15 kids in a class bubble,they won't mix with other classes ,teachers can still distance with desks apart,kids rushing past each other in play is low risk

Remote learning for those kids not going to school? We have set up the oak national academy providing lessons,kids without computers will get them

Teachers refusing to go back,would you hire graduates? Working with unions to give them confidence,they know they need to be there
