Also a cycle tax could be created to build 'cycle highways' across the country. Most of this could come from bicycle related products.

There's a place for bicycles but when you've got people doing 15mph on a 60mph road or other massive speed mismatches etc. Then it's not in anyone's interest to share the same bit of tarmac.
Totally agree on the cycle paths. Cyclists have little choice currently but to cycle on main roads, be those 30, 60mph roads. The number of cycle paths in the UK is derisory and those that we do have are littered with detritus. We, the UK, are a nation of car drivers, we love to be able to drive from our homes to wherever, be that local or distant, hence the paucity of decent bus/tram/rail/cycle networks. The Dutch, Germans, Scandinavians are the model we should be looking to - but it ain't happening soon.

The risk to others of people jogging and cycling near them is being studied by many countries because they expel their breath at such a higher rate than others who are walking near them. Add to that the fact they seem to be far less concerned about social distancing than walkers, and there is bound to be friction between them.

That's a no then is it ?

No need. We can have one online. I think cycling is a fantastic mode of transport: cheap, healthy and reduces traffic. There are some cyclists that don't/won't obey the highway code but, compared to car drivers they are few and far between. That's it, in a nutshell..

That's it, apart from those that ride two and three abreast on trails at ridiculous speeds so that walkers have no chance of getting out of the way and stay 2m away from them. In a nutshell...

As I said, there are cyclists that don't ride appropriately. They are the minority.
