Questions

Gormlous George Eustice

Gathering data from abroad to aid our lifting of restrictions? We are behind several countries so we are watching them closely, south Korea are a good example on contract tracing and Germany and their testing capacity

Financial question about those who can't work and businesses ? see gov website

Media

Do you regret stopping testing and tracking in March ? We had to build capacity and hire tracers, priority was for the nhs,now anyone over five with symptoms can get a test
+
Strategy based on capacity and not science ? Swerved ,later answered yes by the CMO

Schools,do you accept people are scared? we are working with unions, other countries have shown ways to do it,kids need to be in school, other people have kept working
+
Leadership failures in testing and PPE etc why should teachers and parents trust you? Don't agree we made any mistakes
+
Scientific or political decision to send kids to school? We are following the science, but all of us are going to have to live with the virus, schools included

Patients from hospital into care homes with covid ? Don't accept we took the wrong approach to care homes ,some few may have been sent back to care homes with no symptoms,we now test all patients on discharge

(Swerved by him and the CMO also doesn't accept that scientific advice is kept secret)

(Three times he doesn't accept failings or wrong decisions, dickhead)

WHO said in March to test test test, why did you stop doing it,who decided to stop, scientists or ministers ? Had to find out who in hospital had it at the time, low capacity at the time

Brexit question

Lockdown being lifted in remote areas who haven't had any covid cases ? Looking at it

Funding to councils questions

Testing in Portsmouth ,results taking too long and inconclusive ? In a small amount of cases there is a problem and a repeat test is needed

Apart from shisha bars and shopping malls being closed (malls are opening next week), kids doing school online and seeing people walking with masks, it's pretty much back to normal here. Restaurants and cafes full of people, nobody gives a shit about social distancing and just had a hair cut done while barber woman didn't even have a mask on. We've got more luck than brain here.

Kaz - just watching the Government presentation.
The actual figure for Covid deaths at 8 May is 41,020, approx 10k higher than the Government's reported daily figure on that day (8 May) which only includes those who tested positive.
On that basis the actual figure as at today's date is approx 45k.
'ckin Ada.
Never realised the death figures were that high.
That is further down lovely, the first one is positive tests, later on the ONS which includes suspected cases gets added it

Professor Karol Sikora, an oncologist and chief medical officer at Rutherford Health is the one that springs to mind. Other than that just search it and find out for yourself.

Most saying there will be though. Didn't out experts say they think we can avoid it?
That guy is not qualified, look at all the links I post, all our scientists expect a second wave in winter

See the post above yours.
And you can’t find two!
Pathetic, yet you still spout the same crap.

Why? There's plenty of evidence based facts out there, if that's all you're looking for and nothing more. If he chooses to see the light in certain situations, so be it. If he's helping people's mental health in doing so then even better. He's never ignored the scale of what's actually happening but has chosen to look for positive sides where they exist, it's not a bad thing.
False hope does not help mental health in the long run.
