Same professor saying open up the boozers it’s safe.

not sure we are quite there yet but a nice thought

Thing is, I'm sure she's got a valid answer to that question or else she wouldn't put it forward as her opinion let alone stand by it. She must have, as she'll know that would be the first question from everybody who's listening to her. Or at least it should be the first question. I'd just like to hear exactly what that answer is.

What other experts ? The vast majority are saying we will have to live with this till we get a vaccine and their will be another spike in winter, not as bad hopefully

Agreed the vast majority are saying that more are definitely thinking it may run its course. As you are always pointing out this virus is new and surprising people every day. Who knows which way it will go.

Two pubs near me have opened up selling take away coffee, cakes etc from a small marquee outside. Ran past today every table in the beer garden had small groups sat down drinking coffee chatting. How is that more safe than having a beer? Other than the need to go to the loo after a couple of pints obviously.

Seeing more experts coming up with this conclusion let's hope they're right. Denmark is an interesting one, they can't understand why after lockdown they are seeing no new cases, could be the virus is doing what a lot of others do and getting weaker.

i have stocked up on salty liquorice and special brew, it will be one or the other that gives immunity.

It is a selfless trial.

Ha great.
If you want a European example compare Czechia (masks) and Austria (no masks). Started off with no masks then Czechia made face coverings mandatory. The difference became startling.

Some good things from today

  • A new 20-minute test for coronavirus, that does not need to be sent to a lab, is starting large-scale trials today
  • Ten million antibody tests, which can tell if someone has already had the virus, are being procured. Tests used in a survey indicate that 17% of people in London, and 5% of the overall population, have had coronavirus. The government hopes knowing who has antibodies will help it develop policy

A few other things to scroll down for,it is rolling news kinda like tweets

Hyper aware of social distancing etc, before no-one knew about it.

Everytime I walk to the shops now people jump around me like I'm a leper.
Try having a cough for a couple of months,i haven't been out much but when I did and coughed i had to said to alarmed faces it is ok I had it ages ago so I am not contageous, the cough just hangs about for ages

She understands it perfectly well thanks,i showed you why our scientists took their advice,i have no objection if you want to wear a mask,if you are going to use it properly in terms of safety, not everyone is sensible
Even though next monday we are likely to enter stage 2 in Almeria of our exit from full lockdown, today we have all been legally compelled to wear a face mask when we are in public places. Exceptions for medical reasons etc. but still they feel it is still important enough to legislate.
