The worst part of all this will be the month that proceeds the actual hearing.
That's a month of speculation, innuendo and supposed claims of legitimate leaks.
I have no legal background, so is it wrong to presume either party would get a strong feeling about how the hearing went, would the briefings start?
If there really is knock-it-out-of-the-park stuff provided, I don't see why it would then take another month to do the summing up?
I am still of the opinion CAS will say to both parties during the closed hearing to piss off during that window and agree a suitable outcome, without compromising either side?

I retain confidence in what is being said by senior people inside the club, but I am a cynic by nature, certainly in respect that we will be leaving bodies all over the shop.

Usually a good barrister will have a reasonable idea how the verdict will go based on the questions asked and how sometimes a judge will treat a contentious point as fact.
I think in the period after the case but before the verdict you’ll know how confident or otherwise City are by what they do and brief regarding transfer plans, Pep’s future etc

On the basis that the hearing is about procedural correctness it's hard to see that a favourable decision would provide " bodies all over the shop" , I'd have thought it's actually quite a dry boring event and probably a bit of a let down . So we get to a situation where we are somewhat tainted but are still on the CL.
"Cheats ", "got away with it " , " brown envelopes " , "bought the verdict " etc etc ..
This can't be our final objective. Can it ?
As someone else has already said in this thread, UEFA has a proven record of being corrupt, so if City were passing brown envelopes full of cash around then surely they should have just bunged UEFA officials and then this process would never have come to fruition

If one side was leaking and the other not it could also mean that they think they have lost and it would be a desperate attempt to sway CAS. Like you, I have no great confidence in any legal body reaching a fair & balanced verdict each and every time. It seems like a gamble but we have little to lose as I assume CAS can't recommend a more severe punishment?

To me anything 'released' between the hearing & decision will be treated as bull & bluster but, I can well imagine a fair chunk of posters with be flapping like a flappy thing looking at twatter.

Even if no-one is briefing, the media will be making it up to get clicks between the end of the hearing and publication of the Judgment. Sam will be saying he's been told we've been cleared and Panja will be saying we've had the ban increased. So, you're right, it will be a torrid month or so.
Bottom line is we can ignore everything until the CAS press release.

We wouldn’t leave bodies all over the shop at this stage IMO, if the case is strong we would save that ammo for later, I know if I was sure of the facts in their shoes I wouldn’t use any bombs unless it went to a further appeal in the Swiss courts or until after we won.

No, you don't. You can pay over the odds to attract the best players, just not a whole squad of them if you can't afford them. I've already said owners would be made to offset losses they want to incur. Wage bills are a debacle and need reining in.

I have visions of the press conference after we (hopefully) win our case and have the ban quashed. The media who have slagged us off are all there. Delaney, Harris x 2, Syed, Glendenning, Conn, Corbett, etc.
Khaldoon walks in, wearing his sunglasses, stands there silent for a moment while he looks into the eyes of the hacks. He then slowly removes his glasses and says quietly "We told you. We fucking told you we were innocent you ****s. Yet you didn't believe us and called us grubby, cheats, liars and things. You insulted our honour and integrity. Now you'll pay the price. Goodbye."
He then walks out, the doors are locked and the hacks wonder what's going on. Just then, a partition at the back of the room opens and there's a cage of snarling wild carnivores in them. Lions, tigers and wild dogs that haven't been fed for days. There's a click and the gate that separates the hacks from these ravenous wild beasts slowly opens....
