Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

Of my group of 'mates down the pub, their jobs and voting preferences are/were:

Wayne - Scaffolder - Conservative - Leave
Mel - LG office worker - Conservative - Remain
Mark - Chippy - Conservative - Leave
Tracey - Bank Manager - Conservative - Leave
Mel - Gardener - Labour - Leave
Sean - plumber - Conservative - Leave
Matty - Roofer - Conservative - Leave
Paul - Brickie - Conservative - Leave
Mark - owns some form of engineering business - Conservative - Leave
Tom - Electrician - Conservative - Remain
Tony - Provides 'steels' - Conservative - Leave
Justin & Emma - Carpet cleaning company - Conservative - Leave
Tracey seems to enjoy male company.

Not really seeking to 'make a point' - certainly not wishing to get involved in some debate on the definitions of 'classes' - but just a factual observation.

I have always been someone that likes to join the 'after work beer down the pub' groups - used to in Manchester many years ago and have done where I live in the South now that work allows.

There are others but I do not know how they voted - but I would guess in a similar way - I have almost certainly voted Labour more often than any of those that go in my local pub - and also probably more chance of me voting Labour at the next GE than any/most of the tradesmen.

I just think that demonstrates the point that you were making - and. demonstrates the challenge Labour will have - and why they had no chance with a Corbyn/McDonnell ticket.

When I was growing up Labour did not need to WIN voters over - that is now the big change.

As you mention - Labour cannot just assume that certain demograpgics will vote for them - they actually have to win the votes of people
Strange pub that in a 57% Remain constituency and none of them that old.

I think they just humouring you or didn't want to be told what know-nothings they were.

That’s the key for me
Can’t just appeal to us by sAying oh look at those rich Tory wankers
Let’s tax them and build new schools with it
The us against them has gone
Tell me how your gonna help me improve my life
Oh and getting mp’s to vote against their constituents is always a bad way of winning back votes
Vote for us......we know better than you!
Funny - that's what they said about mcfc1632's MP....

And I can't help hoping that this was true

By Friday the atmosphere was so febrile MPs were sharing rumours in their WhatsApp groups that Dominic Raab, the foreign secretary, had punched Cummings in a fight broken up by Michael Gove, a claim variously dismissed as “not true”, “complete invention” and “total bollocks” by senior figure

I can't help thinking a punch from Dominic Raab isn't going to hurt and a fight that gets broken up by Michael Gove is hardly Cool Cats v Leeds Service Crew.

Don't know if it's true, but plenty of people were saying he should have been off for longer after recovering. The problem is that every fucker else in the cabinet seemed to have it too.

He could do the one decent thing since becoming PM and stand down whilst admitting the job was too big for him. Apologise for his stupidity and promise to go back to being the lovable but fairly harmless bloke he once was. That would get my respect.

I've a feeling I might be waiting a while for that to happen so instead I expect him to cling to power and continue to fuck up things left, right and center.
Ah well.

Sounds like they are preparing the groundwork for a major sympathy project for BoJo. The media will lap it up along with the sheep. Gove waiting in the background for his push from Uncle Wupert.

Tracey seems to enjoy male company.
She's the wife / partner of Mark - the Chippy

Lovely couple, used to be my neighbours before I moved a mile away in 2007

The two families go on holiday each year. Tracey is actually as much of a mate as Mark - whilst Mark and I are big Cider drinkers, Tracey shares my taste in music - especially Meatloaf and hot Indian food. Happy to fill in more details if that helps.

The first Mel is similar with Wayne

It is this modern world.

I am sure many years ago - back in my Lower Broughton days - Tracey would have been home cooking Mark 's dinner

' Times - they are a changing... '

It is just the truth - I am not expecting you to recognise or understand it

But, as I try not to reply to you, but I just mistakenly have - let's just test your ability to analyse - you do have a need to improve.....

All the clues are in your post, my post and the post I was replying to - was it @Churchlawtonblue?

So given the information - can you analyse why....

a) the information supports Churchlawtons earlier posted views and

b) where I live - and given that voting profile Wokingham is a Remain constituency

Let's just see some analysis for a pleasant change

BTW Matty is early 30s the rest between 45 - 55
