Without wanting to be controversial, where were all these protests when ISIS was committing genocide against the Yazidis or when the Shia and Sunni were kicking shit out of each other or all the other countless problems in the world. And then to be protesting about violence and racism by causing violence doesn’t really help the cause. Do they also realise there is a pandemic at the moment. I wonder how many people protesting are also refusing to send their kids to school because it’s too dangerous or won’t return to work because they don’t want to travel on public transport yet they are happy to gather in their thousands with no social distancing whatsoever. And wearing a face covering with a hole cut out for your mouth has to be the most ridiculous thing I have seen for a while.

Loads sharing that horse clip on social media with ‘left wing for you’ it’s shit like this which keeps us permanently in a Tory, Brexit, Trump world

Proof!!

Pretty annoyed by all the protests in England tbh. It's a worthy cause and all, but fucking hell, timing. Black lives will still matter in a few months, how about not gathering all together when we are supposed to be trying to rid ourselves of the worst virus of our generation? (which apparently affects BAME people worse) But apparently all that sacrifice everyone did to try and stop the spread becomes irrelevant as we have to protest RIGHT NOW about a problem that's been an issue for decades, because America are being cunts again. The virus doesn't give a shit if you are protesting a good cause.

Time and a place and this isn't it.

You're not. Good post. The crimes against the Yazdis were terrible. Sunni v Shia, and Syria, not in our back yard, that's why, but horrible non the less. And it's true that the tossers protesting in the way they are would not send their kids to school.

Just when you thought the Tories might pay the price at the ballot box for their appalling response to the virus...get ready for 10 more years of Boris everyone.

Not sure. How many people did you message when you were organising the anti ISIS or Yazidi's protests. I presume that you did send them?

Looking at the coverage today I'd guess the majority that I saw won't even have kids - they were kids themselves. If they are going to travel they are probably going to have to use public transport too - its the only sensible way into city centres these days as the car has been outlawed as evil.

Does that mean you and @True_Blue69 are essentially agreeing with Karen’s wider point about police aggression then?

It's true for all victims, in the same way Covid strikes and will continue to strike families up and down the country thanks to antics like today.

I guess today proves some lives matter more than others, just ironically not in the way the people protesting imagine.
