There are always differences mrbelfry and you make a fair point. In contrast, I remember posting that we should be protesting after 1,500 schoolgirls were raped and trafficked in Rotherham but I had some loon leftie on here trying to mock me for this.

Most of the people protesting over the weekend will be doing so in good faith but the groups attacking police look like they are criminal gangs. If people take away the virus and infect elderly relatives then they will have to live with that.

For those people who think this protest is worth more than the covid containment problem.
The UK covid deaths without any measures taken place would have hit 400,000 in the USA it would hit 3 million worldwide 80 million deaths.

Now do people think 80 million peoples lives are worth risking for a protest that could happen at any time?

The media are fuelling it as much as possible. They are on the sides of the protestors. They won't stop until Trump has gone. He will get the blame rather than the lunatics beating up horses. Its all so predictable

I think its its bang out of order people can't see their friends and family in the UK but you can protest about another countries affairs in huge numbers? Seems odd to me

Either that or those on the streets are simply incredibly thick.

And, as a final response to your expanded question, it was only in the last couple of years that police acknowledged that they stop and searched Black youths more than any other demographic, percentage-wise. It's not about "being killed", it's about being targeted or the feeling of that happening.

So the rioters resorted to trying to cripple police horses. When a Newcastle thug punched a police horse he was rightly hammered on here and in the media, so it would be good to see more of rhe people supporting these marches condemn these scum.

One of the leaders yesterday on Sky news did just that and huge credit to him.

He made it very clear that there where elements within the protest that had fuck all to do with BLM and everything to do with just wanting to cause trouble with the police.
 
This was always going to happen in a country that voted trump as their leader , just surprised it's taken so long to happen. At this moment in time the usa and uk seem to be rudderless ships without anyone in charge. Its abit scary that these protest are taking place in the middle of a worldwide pandemic.

The silence from some of the more prominent left leaning posters on this subject is deafening. Those who fling accusations of racism on the basis someone did,nt vote remain and for the Tramp are now getting it back.

I note that the vast majority who were out and about were young, what a shame that they did not wait, those crowds would have been twice the size and more of all colours and ages. What a statement that would have made. In someways an opportunity lost to have harvested massive support from across the population gone.
