EXACTLY what I posted at the time,i was uncomfortable about him being made into some pure martyr when he was a criminal who had been done time for armed robbery and other drug offences,i was uncomfortable with the police giving him an escort to his funeral, phoney respect, hypocrites everywhere ,it would have killed them to have to give a violent ex (maybe)criminal that show of respect

Pushing a gun into a pregnant women's stomach

He didn't deserve to die like that but he was not a hero

Thank you lady

watch it @domalino

But, she's focusing on the individual, not the straws underneath the straw the broke the camel's back. See? There's a difference.

Can't remember her questioning the police brutality over the decades.

You made a point TWICE on the forum and refused to back it up, that's why I persisted.

You have mentioned it since, so I haven't asked you about it. We've just been arguing about your bullshit.

To me, being told "fuck off" is a personal attack.

Well, it is in the real world, so you got a response.

I did make it twice, and didn’t back it up (to you) Your point is? I must apologise, I wasn’t aware I had to back it up as well.

If being told to fuck is personal to you, then god bless you, flower.

Enjoy your evening, I’m gonna go enjoy a few beers!

Powerful argument.

Not really, doesn't matter if he was a career criminalthe officer lay on his neck for 8 minutes not letting up even when he said he couldn't breathe and after he was dead.

The stats she uses omit the number of arrests made and incidents of harrasment in the black community from the police and she uses only stats that support her and half truths.

She has the right to not support BLM movement somthing she has opposed for years, but her arguement is basically he was a criminal so police did their job and this was an unfortunate death or a criminal in custody.

The protests are about a lot more than that.

The problem with this sort of thing is where does it stop? Burning down the Colston Hall? Knocking down Bristol and making it back into a little fishing village - then up to the Scottish border to remove the last vestiges of oppression by the emperor hadron? Starting to get into book burning territory imho

Have you ever been to Bristol? That statue wasn't well respected - it was erected long after his death and many people felt it was an attempt to glorify a past that they would wish wasn't.

Then there was the views of the ironically named St Pauls. They just felt that nothing ever changed for them and for one reason only.

If anything it has probably educated peple about colston as he is a google search trend atm.

The statue has had several local appeals for removal so was a target, I doubt we are at burning down buildings yet.

I think a statue in a town centre of someone who was a slave trader should be taken to a museum, there’s no need to do anything with buildings as they actually serve a proper purpose, as opposed to remembering someone or being there to be aesthetically pleasing. It’s also a waste to get rid of a building.

I don’t think we should be doing it right across the country as a campaign but if the locals want it out of their town centre, stick it in a museum.

Colton Hall is tied to Edward Colton through name alone. The building has been going through renovations for about three years now and there have been plans to rename it once the work is finished.

It's not the same as a statue built in his likeness.

I don't don't disagree with two out of three and one of those the council should have listened to the residents on.
Everyone an expert on Bristol now. It's a shit hole full of feral twats as I know by working there every day. And a mayor who is so sit on the fence useless nothing ever gets done
