Honestly no. Pep is a genius manager but no-one is perfect and on Sané I think he's got it wrong. Just my opinion.

Maybe he just doesn't like the lad for some reason, because footballing-wise, he's potentially a future Ballon D'Or winner IMO. He's a far better player than Sterling, who everyone seems to fawn over.

Sane is a top player but Sterling is better.

It is a pity that we all know that. The problem lies in trying to prove that Bayern tapped him up. Now why shouldn't we do the same to them. All we need to do is to leak stories in the German media that we are interested in some of their players. Even though we know that that is not true.

Time to give them some of their own treatment back to them and see how they like it. Maybe even mention players like Sule, Lewandowski, Muller, etc., etc..
German laws are different to ours, that is what caught Klopp out with VVD, as for Sane i love him you can see the difference in the team when he does not play, but all teams need to grow perhaps ours did learning to play without him?

Not for me he's not.
Sterling loses posession way too much, can be very frustrating.

Because he is braver Sane passes back or sideways. Plenty of space to run into with goal in his site yep he is top draw packed buses he passes it way more.

Not seeing much bravery from Sterling on the left. Hardly ever drives at a fullback from there since about October. Playing out there largely negates his best asset (pace) as he has little confidence to run on the outside and constantly looks to cut inside. It’s also a big resin why we’re not quite so formidable going forwards as we’re very narrow compared to at our very best.

Yeah he has been but still say he is braver a better dribbler than Sane. When Sane and sterling play though if gives us better width.

For me the fact that they do not play like each other is their greatest asset, and the reason they play so well together, but both lose possession a lot when the other is not playing because they create space for the other

The Sterling of 2018 maybe. The Sterling of last season reverted back to gormlessly over-running the ball into the nearest defender's legs almost every time he had (and yes, I'm exaggerating I know)…..

Sterling and Sane are both incredible players, they're very different but compliment each other perfectly which is why it's such a disappointment if Sane leaves. If/when Sane leaves, we also lose out on Sterling's ability to score 15-20 goals a year from tap ins at the back post. It's imperative we replace that natural width on the left, even if it's with a different skillset to Sane, the quality of delivery is the most important quality to replace.

Pep's new #2 will hopefully reinvigorate that right/left balance, as he appears to be very focused in creating width and opportunities to provide crosses from the little I have seen and read so far.

Partly agree with you, but I think that goal you are taliking about we all saw us keep scoring but so did opposition coaches, so while not having Sane partly stops it. So does other coaches blocking that run inside the area where Silva used to find Sane for the cut across to Sterling. We often see now the wide player left with the ball and nobody to cross to as the opposition refuse to be drawn out and pack the area to stop those passes.

I accept that opposition teams have made it more difficult to exploit those spaces but in doing so that frees up more room for Silva (Foden/Bernardo) and De Bruyne in the middle. Alternatively they can bring even more men back to defend and we have even more control of the game, less risk of getting hit on the counter, its a win win for us.

The bigger you make the pitch, the more tiring it is for the opposition. It's impossible to defend for 90 minutes physical or mentally, so we just have to trust our ability and be patient, the opportunities will always come with the talent we have at our disposal.

Wrong! Sterling works harder and cares about the team .
I don't think that's entirely fair, Sterling does work incredibly hard for the team but Sane's not too far behind him. Don't get me wrong there's been odd moments I've gone mad at him but the same can be said for every player, everyone switches off occasionally. I don't think it happens with him that much more frequently than everyone else, not noticeably like Mahrez for example, although he's improved beyond recognition since he arrived. I can't stand lazy fuckers, it's my single biggest annoyance but I wouldn't put Sane in that category personally.

I think thats true, but teams had set us a puzzle we were stumbling to work out by sitting around the a packed area we were finding it difficult to play through and the refusal to come out meant they didn’t tire as much. While we had extra space on the wings the make up of our team ,short, left if difficult to cross.
It’s so long since I saw us play now I have a memory of later games with Mendy and giving KDB more freedom and an improved Mahrez we had worked it out but it’s all a bit hazy now, but have no doubt Pep will have come up with a plan for the games left and next season Sane or no Sane, like for like replacement or not.
