No it isn’t. What he added is unnecessary and creates a divide, completely goes against the goal of equality for all. All he had to say was “promote black community businesses” and it would have been fine but he didn’t.

You know, you are able to criticise somebody when they do wrong, even if you agree with the overall message. Not everything has to be black and white (excuse the pun).

If for one minute Tyson Fury said “don’t buy from their businesses, only buy from white owned shops” there would be uproar (and rightly so).

In the UK...as an 11, 12 and 13 yo I had guns pointed at me by laughing policemen and british soldiers...power hungry fascist c*nts the lot of them

I have absolutely zero respect for any of them, they dont deserve it.

I can only react to what I've seen on here.

Protesting for a good and valid cause with social distancing, good think to do and I completely ( as a white guy ) the frustrations, and the cause.

but.......

Vandalizing Winston Churchills statue, wrong, and a criminal act. Furthermore, it will be seen as incitement to certain people within the community, it completely diminished the cause, and is dangerous as it has implication to really cause a toxic divide.

Being hostile and aggressive towards the police, who are in a difficult situation and more than likely agree with the protesters then bemoaning an aggressive response back, well I just can't understand that!

I've seen people online saying íf you are white and don't protest you are part of the problem and a racist'' that is such a negative message. I don't have the time to go to these protests and resent the accusation.

Bottom line, if you can be controlled and protest in a dignified and honorable way great all power to you, these idiots who can't resist trouble and are using it to promote a different agenda, stay at home.

I am afraid that this constant bombardment of being accused of being racist at every opportunity, should you not be a lefty, or a remainer, if you dont take a knee, ect ect is causing more resentment and more divide. Those that do it know this and thats what they want to achieve, Division because without that division they no longer have a drum to beat and without that drum their lives would be an empty shell.

There is an opportunity here still. BLM should throw a big fuck off party across the country at the conclusion of this pandemic. A party that takes place in every town with no excuse or reason for any colour religion gender or sexuality or age to fear taking part. A party for all lives turn the UK into one massive woodstock for a weekend. With social media and todays technology it would be quite possible to do. What a message that would send. That is the way to end racism.
 
There's been a fair amount of evidence provided (some earlier in the thread) -- including video, and arrests of protesters -- that some of the worst offenses committed during the protests in the US have been from white supremacist groups posing as far left groups, and/or posing on line and and encouraging violence and vandalism.

Has there been similar in the UK?

I’m not sure digging up the troubles and applying it to domestic police in the UK now is helpful in the slightest.

The cops being bottled at the weekend weren’t likely born or were children when it really kicked off in NI.

I can’t emphasise enough how the majority of them aren’t to blame.

There’s absolutely zero evidence for that in the UK, no.

The violence is being done by fringe far left anarchist groups and those that sympathise with them generally speaking.

I don’t use social media but the quote I have an issue with is “Abstain from spending your money in their shop and economies”.

Who is he referring to when he says ‘their’ is my immediate question. It doesn’t look good does it? He was called out three years ago after messages were sent to another boxer from his social media account labelling them a “disgrace to the superior black race”. I very much hope he’s telling the truth when he says his account was hacked.

I suppose only Anthony Joshua can say if he sees one race as superior to another or not. Many are fighting against this very point so I’d like to think he uses his very powerful voice to encourage the right message in the future. Adding to the divide between communities is counter productive in the long run.

Don’t think there has been. Usually it’s undercover police infiltrating far left groups kicking things off :)

He is referring to ‘white’ I imagine.

You know when we have campaigns like ‘Buy British’ or ‘support your local retailers’? It’s like that. But for black owned businesses.

I’ve just seen a video of Tommy Robinson calling out every “football lad” to be in London on saturday to protect statues. Since then i’ve heard firms from all clubs as far as Sunderland & Newcastle will be there.
What the fuck is going on?
This is all the police need.
On one side why do football lads need to get involved, on the other why attack police and vandalise statues?
I don’t think it’s going to be a white v black thing as we all know football firms have black members and BLM have white supporters but this is just getting fucking stupid. A lot of people are going to get hurt (including police) and god help us if someone gets killed!
I heard the police moved people away who were protecting the churchill statue and let the protesters vandalise it? If it’s true - i’m not surprised these hooligans are all meeting in London!
Bang goes any social distancing.
This year can officially suck my balls - stop the world.....i want to get off
