Everyone should want that shouldn't they? When it gets to the stage where someone is told to control their subconscious bias we know that it's an impossible task. We've entered into the realm of thought police and finger pointing bud.

I don’t disagree with that, if there’s such thing as unconscious bias, then it must affect all ethnicities and all backgrounds negatively.

Racism is conscious, we have a choice to be racist or not.

My former in-laws where pretty much all Irish-American and not one of them uses the term "British", it is always(and listen to pretty much any republican)broken down to English....(it is a way to simplify the issue further).

Thanks for putting words in my mouth. I would very much like it if violent actions weren't a part of the equation necessary for real societal change to occur. Sadly that's not usually the norm though and I would much rather see it directed at inanimate objects that glorify what is an abhorrent practice in our times than against other people.

I'm happy for you that race isn't an issue for you but if you don't recognise that there is still a huge problem for others then you are part of that problem. The only way change is going to happen is when more voices are raised against injustice of any kind. If you see it in the workplace, on the street or on social media then say something. The Dave Chappelle video posted earlier was a good watch if you missed it.
 
I've been out of the loop in the last couple of days. It's been mentally exhausting, these last two weeks so I've shut myself off from all forms of news. I've tried to focus on more lighthearted interests. What are the latest happenings? Any interesting or significant developments?

Aliens built the pyramids seems quite an interesting and significant development - but then if you read a thread on Bluemoon for too long, Aliens tend to be the answer to most things.
