I think the police made a decision not to try and halt the statue removal due to an already fraught situation becoming a riot like it was in nearby St Paul's in 81. Memories of TV footage there(amongst several other major cities) are still etched into minds of those old enough to remember. The police made the right decision I think, but that statue was there to remind society that we have moved on from 17th century slaverery the city was built on. Looks like mob rule and anarchy is just around the corner unfortunately.

well, no....they dont disagree with peoples right to march...they fundamentally disagree with those who promote hate speech from marching, and having a platform...free speech is not hate speech. They exist in response and reaction to hate speech.

They attack anything right wing, they themselves are fascists. They are the flipside to the radical right wing groups any other explanation is just an excuse. This isn't a description of left wingers just the idiots in black attacking anything they don't agree with.

The turned up at a neo Nazi march in Manchester several years ago.

There were a small number of the skin head cunts marching with a police escort, they weren’t saying anything other than holding up fascist banners and there was no violence.

Most people were laughing at them and giving them verbals as you’d expect.

Fast forward to Antifa turning up and it turned ugly. They were the ones who instigated the violence and innocents got caught in the cross fire.

If someone isn’t breaking the law, they ARE allowed to march and say what they like.

Antifa don’t get to decide what people can and can’t say, if you see a crime, report it.

I hate them but I support the Nazis right to a peaceful march.

Other names include Christopher Columbus, former Prime Minister William Gladstone, Oliver Cromwell and Sir Francis Drake.

These are some of the names on the list apparently... as I said where does it end.

People who just want to remove our history and delete out anyone they don’t like. People who despise Britain. Slave trader yes remove their statues

the same people who want this, are the same people that riot every summer, climate protests, student, pro remain.. the antifa mob

I'm not arguing with you that you are correct in what you are saying about anger being directed at the English, indeed if you go back to my first post on this... that was my point.... but the fact remains its a lazy viewpoint that people have(I would add I'm not taking a view on the wider troubles or the topic of a United Ireland)
