Jesus! Full stops.
Word.
Jesus! Full stops.
I like a conspiracy as much as anyone but they have about 300,000 employees in 1000 offices which operate with some autonomy.Guess who David Gill and Ed Woodward both worked for?...
What about,1 year ban and the c.l. trophy?Day before CL final if UEFA had the choice.
Yes.Yes that was in my mind too. Would it be that crazy to suggest they have some influence in pwc !?
And woodie?I like a conspiracy as much as anyone but they have about 300,000 employees in 1000 offices which operate with some autonomy.
Gill was only there for a few years in the 80's, never got high up. Woodward left in his mid-20's to be a banker.
You make it sound like they are big players at the firm that audited us, when actually they are just 2 people who briefly passed through one of the biggest employers in the world out of uni.

All set out here https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...accounting-sponsorships-uefa-champions-league and here https://ninetythreetwenty.com/blog/...e-ffps-part-deux-the-double-city-do-not-want/From my own recollection, it was Aabar, Etisalat and Visit Abu Dhabi, which we're deemed related parties and subsequently we agreed not to increase those deals over a certain number of years?
I don't believe Etihad was deemed a related party.
Fair enough then, thanks for the info.Joined out of uni, did the years needed to qualify as an accountant and then left for JP Morgan when still a nobody.
I was in a room once when PWC unveiled a report, criticising a hospital for its ‘unrealistic assumptions’ on future activity and income assumptions.Guess who David Gill and Ed Woodward both worked for?...
Ah, so if it goes tits up for him at United, he has a job waiting for him then! For a company that has made so many cock ups it’s amazing that PWC is still going.......
Granted, but In my experience, old-network ties are ever-lasting.
Certainly when it comes to knowing a friend of a friend in a legal, banking or footballing sphere.
My son has an old-boy network at his grammar school - old gits who went to the school for just a few years but join up each year to chew the fat and call in favours and cash.
I've done it throughout my own career. Couple years here, someone knows someone, they are vouched for, before you know it, someone you hardly know has removed an obstacle for you.
Way of the world, sadly.
Yeah but it's not like we're without contacts ourselves.
I don't know where John Macbeath started out as an accountant but there's probably a 1 in 4 chance it was PwC. I'd imagine somewhere in the CFG family there's someone who spent time there.
Khaldoon and Mansour have influence and connections that make Ed Woodward and David Gill look like boy scouts.
I realise that could be the case , it was said tongue in cheek tho WillippIm not buying that for one second. They aren't in charge of this procedure so unlike the previously where they have held all the cards, they start to leak info now, especially with what city raised on the original process, they would effectively be screwing their own chances.
