Too soon for this thread? Probably, but it’s only a week away now so we may as well discuss it, even if many are ambivalent to it.

Assuming we’ll have pretty much a fully fit squad to choose from, so I’d go for the following XI, just to ease us back into things:
Ederson
Cancelo
Garcia
Laporte
Mendy
Rodri
Foden
De Bruyne
Bernardo
Sterling
Jesus

I’ll watch it but my interest in the result is on a par with a city post season tour and I actually hope Pep treats it that way with our line ups too saving players for the fa cup and champs league games and using the rest for fitness and preparation for next season. All integrity has gone so I don’t see why we should act with integrity by taking it seriously. Foden and Garcia should be playing every game they are fit to, if cancelo is staying him too, Aguero both Silva’s Kdb Fernandinho and Laporte all being used very sparingly.

Who knows what the fitness levels are like and so on that basis I’d like to see the more naturally fit lads start this one. Walker and Zinchenko at full back, Phil in the middle, Raz and Jesus in the front line with Leroy.

I feel as interested as watching an England game with their drums and voovzella things. Won’t be tuning in but will check the score afterwards

I hope Pep gives Foden and Garcia starts but other than that he can pick anybody because of the 5 sub-rule.
The academy players need to see a straight/ direct root from the academy to first-team.
Which they aren't seeing so we are losing our best talents to other top clubs.
are you rewatching this season and waiting for the latest episode?

The nearer the kick off hopefully the excitement will return for many.

It's going to be hilarious seeing the empty seat brigade out in force.

Throw the game so that the authorities can deal with a merseyside derby at which the dippers can win the league and lets see them claim their safety certificates and talks with fan groups will mean everyone behaves and is safe then.

So the Everton v Liverpool game is going ahead at Goodison after assurances from Merseyside police. Yep, the same force that couldn't protect City's team bus, the same fans that brought infamy to the names of Heysel and Hillsborough. Outcome? Won't be a surprise. Followed by a public enquiry. And just suppose that if some of the Liverpool fans who happen to be black get into a spot of bovver with the fuzz. The media will be in seventh heaven.
Any such assurance should be taken with the same confidence as any assurance from Huawei on 5G!

As for the Arsenal game, like many, lost interest in the season.
The PL should now be focused on the 20/21 season and planning for that with Covid still around a possibility.
