Unless a deal is reached, the 6 month implementation delay could be catastrophic for us because we would immediately be in breach of WTO MFN rules which could potentially open up the UK to tariff free imports from everywhere in the world without any necessity for reciprocation for our exports.

so thats what taking back control looks like?

Surely four years ago when we had the mass unemployment, emergency budget and house price crash following the referendum?

It’s like they are sat there waiting for something bad to happen. To say ‘i told you so’ or look how bad it is.

a lot of remain voters have lost the plot. They lost the argument and resort to insults and sneering at anyone with a different view. Until they stop that they will keep losing. Right now they are in meltdown mode

I think most have given up even trying to argue back with people who just don’t accept anything that doesn’t go there way.

Do you want No Deal?

We actually got the pound in free fall against the dollar (still not recovered), political chaos for four days as no one knew what to do (we still don’t) and the Bank of England, cutting rates and pumping billions into the economy to keep it afloat until someone got a grip (unfortunately it was Theresa May).

We then triggered A50 without any planning and ended up paying the EU £40 billion (likely more as some liabilities will not come due for years), putting up a customs border within our own sovereign territory and allowing the economic writ of the EU to run in one of the home nations. Oh and with no sniff of a future trade deal as promised.

We are currently insisting on leaving transition on 31st December and introducing a full border in the event of no deal, except we aren’t because we forgot to plan for it. Johnson is now saying a deal must be struck by July but conveniently forgets a timetable for negotiations has already being agreed for August. Perhaps he was taking a nap.

Can I suggest you and your fellow Brexiteers concern themselves with the reality and the now rather than any hyperbole from Cameron. Especially as the sheer, unadulterated bollocks and grand promises vomited by the Leave side are conspicuous by their absence.

We want a deal. The voters were promised a deal, in 2016. May lost her majority after saying No Deal is better than a bad deal. Johnson promised an oven-ready deal.

Giving in to the EU means a deal that does least damage to the UK by changing as little as possible. No-one believes we will be better off if we "control our borders". Of course the EU might let us have all the benefits without the obligations (and people say they are intransigent if they don't) but I'm afraid being ludicrously optimistic or jingoistic about that does not make you a patriot.

But apart from all that, nothing happened, so we’ll be fine next year deal or no deal, and anyone that says otherwise is a remoaner waiting in great anticipation for something bad to happen, when all we need is some unjustified optimism to make sure it’s all going to be ok.

That’s not why she lost her majority, though.

She’d have had probably more chance of keeping it if she’d have just left with a no deal, certainly until the next election anyway.

Still, wasn't the end of the world was it? Might be worth keeping things in perspective, but I suppose if you constantly expect the worst you only get nice surprises.

I have been saying all along that No Deal is unpopular - and that is before it even happens with half the country in denial.

Johnson has backed himself in a corner and no deal seems like an option to get out when its just doubling down on his problems. It will cost a load of money that will be entirely wasted and he will have to go straight back into talks with he EU to get a deal from an even weaker position.

I've said before he wont last 6 months once no deal has been fully implemented - the only ambiguity is I don't see how he can implement it. The cost will be obscene and the disruption to peoples lives and businesses will be completely unacceptable, he has already suggest a 6 month delay on implementation at ports - even that is not going to work.
Fuck

But you do post some proper bollocks

Thankfully - you have a seemingly 100% track record of getting your predictions hopelessly wrong

So I am pleased to see this one

They are indeed in meltdown

And bitter as fuck - they take themselves so seriously though

Re the last bit of your post - about Leave posters being largely absent

My reading of the cause of that would be a mixture of:

a) they recognise the utter desperate bollocks posted by Remainers and the manner in which that extends to the deliberate misquoting of what they say - so why bother as you guys are not interested in / capable of genuine debate - or

b) there is something of a pause at the moment - so they are just chilling - or

c) they recognise the desire of Remainers to make the thread an echo chamber - so are letting you have what you want - or

d) they prefer to reduce their involvement to laughing from the side-lines as you guys get so 'indignant' - it can really be quite entertaining

e) they refuse to discuss fish, farming, finance or factories. Three contentless posts in a row, well done.

I think "unjustified optimism" is now officially known as "oomph".

I have seen Leavers post a series of inconvenient truths recently

Some Remainers are more at home with convenient untruths

You misread the last bit of my post. Can you guys not get anything right?

For a number of people who have suddenly had to face the fact that the country they thought they had a right to live in and no longer did, it has been an expensive and stressful period. As with all decisions there is a human dimension to the impact they cause. Just as we agitated for a hostile environment for immigrants and ended up sending citizens to countries they never knew and ended up with the Windrush scandal.

How’s that for fucking perspective?

A bit hysterical tbh.
