We actually got the pound in free fall against the dollar (still not recovered), political chaos for four days as no one knew what to do (we still don’t) and the Bank of England, cutting rates and pumping billions into the economy to keep it afloat until someone got a grip (unfortunately it was Theresa May).
We then triggered A50 without any planning and ended up paying the EU £40 billion (likely more as some liabilities will not come due for years), putting up a customs border within our own sovereign territory and allowing the economic writ of the EU to run in one of the home nations. Oh and with no sniff of a future trade deal as promised.
We are currently insisting on leaving transition on 31st December and introducing a full border in the event of no deal, except we aren’t because we forgot to plan for it. Johnson is now saying a deal must be struck by July but conveniently forgets a timetable for negotiations has already being agreed for August. Perhaps he was taking a nap.
Can I suggest you and your fellow Brexiteers concern themselves with the reality and the now rather than any hyperbole from Cameron. Especially as the sheer, unadulterated bollocks and grand promises vomited by the Leave side are conspicuous by their absence.
