Anyone else think this might be linked to the change in tone from the NFL on taking the knee and generally supporting the BLM movement. Trump was asked about Kapernick the other day and did his best to say he should be allowed to return:

"If he deserves it, he should," Trump said Wednesday during an interview with WJLA-TV, the ABC-affiliate in Washington D.C. "If he has the playing ability. He started off great, and then he didn't end up very great in terms of a player. He was terrific in his rookie year. I think he was very good in his second year. And then something happened. So his playing wasn't up to snuff."

Trump continued: "The answer is absolutely I would. As far as kneeling, I would love to see him get another shot. But obviously he has to be able to play well. If he can't play well, I think it would be very unfair."

And then the NFL have come out and said:

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is on board with any of the NFL's 32 franchises signing former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

"If he wants to resume his career in the NFL, then it's obviously going to take a team to make that decision," Goodell said during an interview with ESPN.

Goodell added during the Monday interview that if Kaepernick is not back on the field when the 2020 season gets underway, the league would also welcome his insights to "help us and guide us and help us to make better decisions" on complex issues.

So literally within a few days of the above he decides to drop in to conversation there might be no sport in 2020 even though he is having mass rallies (NFL would start in August and regular season ends in December - i.e. its in 2020). Something going on?

I assume the Tony @karen7 mentioned is Dr Fauci, who's not been seen with Trump for a while now.

I doubt Trump has even considered there being no sport.
