I went trainer shopping today and popped in to the Puma shop on Carnaby Street. They had all three City shirts on sale but I couldn’t bring myself to buy one. Nothing told the inner purist that they’re City jerseys.

Did you not get the 125 anniversary kit?
The purple is not part of City, so even now if I don't mind it, it wont age well in the future.

Don’t think it’s actual Puma who’s asked him to be part of launch or whatever ... looks like a dodgy chinese replica to me ... plus if Puma hires anyone for official launch, don’t think they’d be allowed to do this on social media BEFORE Puma has actually shown it off ...

Why did they pay for the model to promote it then?

The more the 'designers' get to work on a shirt the shittier they are. A simple pale blue shirt with badge and sponsor. Doesn't need anything else, but I suppose if one season's shirt looked the same as the next no one would buy one!

You’ve pretty much answered your own question there. They need to be different yet familiar.

Dortmund Kit is being revealed on July 1st. Can imagine we will also be launched near that time considering we are one of Puma's Elite clubs. However I imagine it depends entirely on if we want to wear it during the last few games of the league or not.

How hard can it be for Puma to come up with decent kits, if some ordinary Joe Soap (no offence fella, if you're on here) can come up with those?

You're probably answering your own question there.

Its not hard, and I'm 100% sure someone at Puma could do as good a job if not better if they had the same parameters of "design any kit you want".

But they have all sorts of restrictions put on them through the manufacturing, marketing, the regulations, appealing to varied demographics, cost etc.

IMO Puma have already made their great kit - it's the anniversary one.

Everything else is going to be aimed at a 1 year cycle to sell as many kits as possible to kids each year and make the profits as high as possible.

Get the feeling regardless who are kit maker is they will come up with some average designs, some absolute horrendous designs and the odd occasion a half decent top now and again. We could switch to Adidas and the first kits would be along the lines of Nike and now what Puma are producing..
