Kalidou Koulibaly

I wonder if this is why Napoli have been linked with supposedly trying to sound out Sergio and his dad?

Possibly trying to create a deal out of it?

If money isn't the issue, then Koulibaly would be the ideal option, we need to compete again with Liverpool now, not further down the line.

My only reservation is African Cup of Nations is definitely a goer and this guy would be gone for a crucial period of time.

Just as the rats would also be saying goodbye to Mane and Salad.

surely dealing with their owner would be a no no after last time?

He would have to cross the aisle quite a bit but maybe they are desperate for cash?

Having watched him four times now against Liverpool, it seems clear he is top drawer.

He might be right footed, but only ever seen him on the left, which might be an issue.

I don't rate any defender from Italy or Portugal.

Chris Smalling was the best centre back in Italy this year.

I'd like to see us chance a bid on Varane at Madrid.

He is 27 and has less than two years left on his deal.

His injury record isn't the best though.

so reports of dias are possibly wide of the mark? surely a top CB is the number one priority this coming window?

The reports on Dias have been around since last summer, just like Aouar.

Doesn't make them incorrect, but it is hardly anything new at this stage.

Pep said a couple of days ago we might need money for something we need elsewhere in the team - doesn't need a brain surgeon to suggest a new centre back is the priority.

i guess alot will depend on the CAS appeal. Sergios mate Jose seems to think though that if we win that then a few top signings are arriving.

The priority(Big Money) Signings:
Centre-Back
Attacking Midfielder
Defensive Midfielder

Again, hardly a stretch, is it?

As you say, budgets will fluctuate, accordingly.

A lot will also depend on if Sane move goes through this summer.

I wouldn't get hopes up of a £200m spending spree, put it that way.

Doubt it would be a few myself. A right sided centre back will be the biggest priority, a left back that can cover left centre back or play in a back 3(*Alaba would be my preference) Then a young forward more with Aguero leaving next summer in mind. Maybe a midfielder but don't think it's particularly urgent. That would be it.

Have you heard anything more on Havertz? He would definitely make up for the loss of Sané but seems bound for Chelsea or Madrid.

Didn't they move Afcon to the summer?

He's the one we want to spend big on if CAS goes our way.

Speaking to his people regularly.

Havertz would be two fingers to Bayern
We should also be turning Thiago and alabas heads with only a year left as that gives us equal footing with Bayern in negotiations for sane
Only thing they gave them in champions league
We need cas decision really don’t we?
