Kalidou Koulibaly

They can afford him now after Silver lake deal. If we manage to get him this January and you can quote me on that, him and Laporte together with Dinho back as DM we will win the Champions league.

Despite all the press speculation that it was a sneaky way round FFP, the Silver Lake deal isn't to fund transfers - it's to fund infrastructure investment in the wider CFG. Buying Mumbai City was the first example of that. Hence, We'd need to sell (Sane?) to buy Koulibaly.

From what I have seen of the teams in the Champions League , we have more than a decent chance of winning, there is not one team that stand out as something special.

If Laporte comes back fit and healthy in February and we get Kouilbaly, we have more than a decent chance of going all the way.

We'll start the bidding at £60m, then pull out when it goes over £70m,
Surely Txixi realises by now we've got too pay the going rate if we want the best, I mean if slabhead cost £85m, then £100m for a far superior player is a no brainer

Maguire was 85m so 100m for this guy sounds about right.

We're not paying 100 million for a 28 year old defender, regardless of how good he may be.
Ushited pay that because Eddie Fourplanks is a horrible football CEO and they get absolutely scammed in the market.

Yes, things aren't as great as they were last season and the one before that, but we need to stop flapping and calling for short term solutions.

Bought Dinho when he was 28. Nice little short term solution there. Most elite CBs stay world class well into mid 30s and Koulibaly is an absolute physical specimen. That's a solid 5 years. That's not short-term in football. Besides 10 yr plans rarely ever work out in football.

Some players are worth the fee given the attributes they bring regardless of age.

Strength, power, agility, height and leadership, this guy is the real deal.

Mbappe is another, break the bank, he is the best of a generation, his value will only increase and he is everything we want.

Quality is expensive but you get what you pay for.

We're not going to break our transfer record by 40 odd million signing a 28 year old centre half in January, guys. That's the very definition of panic buying. We'll be fine once Laporte returns anyway.

If that comes down to around 60-70 mill, Txiki might have a go.

Can't think of a single other world-class CB who's both physical and technical enough for our team, can make an immediate impact, provide the leadership we need at the back and actually wants to leave.
