Ben Chilwell

I think it’s pretty safe to say that given the current climate(Covid) no one in their right mind will be spending 85mil on Chilwell. Certainly not City. I’m addition to that, City might have to find 80mil to plug the CL revenue if the ban is upheld so given we currently have 3 left backs, I can’t see us going anywhere near this

£85M isn't ever going to happen again for quite some time.

Football has finally been forced into a reset.

My mate is a diehard season ticket holder Leicester fan but also has a soft spot for us. He doesn’t rate Chilwell at his current market value and nor do most here.
If we sign him I fear he could turn into the new John Stones...
Best steer clear of this one.

The way FFS Mahrez tore him a new one at the Etihad should tell us he’s a bang average full back who’s only clear attribute is his nationality. Anything above £30m is a joke. I’m honestly not sure he’s better than Zinchenko. There must be better players in Europe than Chilwell. He’ll be an England regular for years but so were Phil Neville and Danny Mills and they had zero quality between them.

I was at the away game and he ripped the piss out of him then too.

I wouldnt give em £8.5m for him nevermind £85m, its all bullshit paper talk from journalists with wild illusions.

Wayne bridge mark 2. Not a bad player, real worth probably 30m tops. Leicester will want double that!
Theo hernandez more intriguing if a flying left back is the requirement. Our side badly needs an injection of pace.

He’s a proven premier league player who in my opinion is a better left back then anything we have. Much more solid defensively and can get forward.

mendy isn’t good enough and zinchenko isn’t a left back - he’s done ok

I agree, but he isn’t worth the £80m it would take. He’s a decent left back but nothing special.

Can`t understand why we never went in for the lad from Hull,Robertson was his name.Wonder what happened to him.Cracking game he had for them when we played them in the cup.

Because he plays for Hull, not a fancy team.

When our scouts/management decide to shop, they go to the Harrods not local shops.

All credit to Mahrez for ripping him apart but that wasn’t the only time Chilwell has been exposed as a weakling in Leicester’s defence. He has as much pace as Zinchenko and would be consistently torn apart by anyone who can outrun him. He is not even better in attack than Mendy. Chilwell simply does not tick the boxes for what we would need in a LB. I haven’t even mentioned his price tag.

Scored a fantastic goal last week but defensively he’s no better than any of our current options at left back.

We should be trying to involve Davies or Alaba in the prospective deal with Bayern for Sane.
