But don’t win the trophies we do , so who’s doing it best? Not like we let Sancho, Boateng, Tevez, and plenty of more players walk for practically nothing to rival big clubs. Even players who see as surplus we cant get a decent price for them. Other teams manage it miles better than us.
Absolutely it’s a tidy profit.Complete different market today than when we bought him. He helped us win trophies and played well so was worth the money but to claim that we made a “tidy profit” is bullshit.
You'd take Sane over Sterling, Laporte, Aguero, Bernardo, Foden? Fair enough, that's a bold statement.just listen to Liverpool. From klopp to players to fans, they all rate him so, so highly. Literally the difference maker in games where the opponents are good enough to not camp in their box.
I’d have him over any player in our squad today except KDB. There’s good reason we didn’t compete for the prem this year and he’s a large reason.
Price is about right, imo. All parties happy.
That’s how it works when players get into their final year of contract.i think if city sell him last year,it was close to 90 million.
but ok, move on.
Signed for 37m, got 3 seasons from him, made 18m profit. Can't complain.
Do you know what other teams don't manage miles better than us?Not like we let Sancho, Boateng, Tevez, and plenty of more players walk for practically nothing to rival big clubs. Even players who see as surplus we cant get a decent price for them. Other teams manage it miles better than us.
That’s not an overall profit. Obviously from an accounting perspective it will go down as an incoming fee but you are missing the point. Considering his age and the quality of the player we got ripped off, regardless of the fact that he only has a year left on his contract. Highly doubt Sane would’ve agreed to not play for a whole year if we’d hardballed himYou don’t understand football accounting. The profit booked is actually £47.6m in the accounts of it’s a £55m deal.
Watch us get bent over and taken to the cleaners for Koulibaly

It's like the days of old in the Sterling thread :-)It's very impressive how we got £70m.
(No offence TH but it seems the fee is going up every 5 minutes)
You have no idea if City got this wrong. Sane seems to have been set on leaving for ages. Maybe if City had changed their manager, Sane might have stayed but maybe not; anyway I'd rather have Pep at City than Sane.
60k a week and we offered him 180k in 2018.he’s leaving on a 30k per week contract. It was on us to fix that ASAP once we saw what he had.
