Southampton (A) Post-Match Thread

People will woman and moan but apart from our own silly mistakes which most teams get with we weren’t that bad.
As Pep said, both boxes are where our problems lie. Ahh well, makes no difference in the grand scheme of things.
 
Could not see us scoring even if we continued playing for another 90 mins. We need another pacey winger to hurts teams like these, like Sane
 
We need to buy a striker and use Foden and Jesus as wing options in light of Sané’s exit. Buy Aouar to get Gundogan out of the team more often. People will say it’s limiting Foden’s games but Foden is a winger in the short term. Then Aouar replaces Gundogan entirely when he leaves, maybe in one year from now. Koulibaly for defence and buy a left back. Then we need a backup keeper assuming Bravo leaves and potentially a right back if Cancelo leaves.
 
Southampton played like it was a cup final, we played like we were in training.

Jesus & Bernardo were so infuriating tonight. Foden should have got more of the ball, completely changes the pace of the play and we look dangerous.

And how the hell was there only 5 minutes of Injury time? Do the drinks breaks not get added on? Plus the 4 minutes their players wasted in the last 10 minutes.
 
Looking forward to the massive overreaction to us losing a game 2 days after beating the dippers when the opposition had 7 days rest.

The players were knackered. Weve played 2 more games than them since the restart. Pep made 6 or 7 changes, we were a bit disjointed and they capitalised well on the mistake.

Oh and we had a stonewall penalty not given.

Shit happens. Move on.
 
Well that fee kick summed up Kev's 35 mins performance, utter dross. We actually played worse when him and Foden came on, we were doing ok up until that point, creating chances and putting their defence under pressure. Only Cancelo and Dave come out of that with any credit. Oh, and is anyone still saying we don't need another striker, because Jesus certainly isn't the answer.
 
Something cropped up, so only managed to watch the 2nd half, was the 1st half similar?

On the 2nd half, bit of a travesty but if you don't finish these results can happen.
