I was about to say, surly a conflict of interests if we still use Blackstone Chambers.

No as barristers from the same chambers go up against each other all the time. It's also quite common for a Judge to be from the same chambers as an advocate in a case.

On the shearer comment, and I don’t know if tolmie has heard this, my journo mate told me there was a bit of a stir amongst some over excited press pack over his comments but apparently he said it to wind up Micah as banter, nothing more, and that as most people realised, he had no idea at all on the outcome

Shearer’s opinion is of absolutely no consequence at all.
It is important to accept that it is only his opinion, to which he is perfectly entitled. If I was him, I’d probably go that way, if asked. If city overturn it, nobody will remember what he said, if they don’t, he was ‘on the money’.

Funny that if we get banned all our players will be out the door where as the likes of the scum chelsea arsenal players all stick around when not competing.

It’s seems as always the rules and how Manchester City are treated is totally different from any other club.
Due to them all being mercenaries mate, if only they'd play for us for nothing like the raggy mob who all had a poster of Beckham & a Giggsy pillow case as a kid.

If true, that would suggest Micah thinks we’ll be ok... and I would expect Micah to be much more ITK on City issues than Shearer

No garment rending here GDM, I assure you! I just don’t think it likely we could overhaul a 20 point deficit and still qualify for the CL without 2 or 3 of our best players? Do you?

I agree with you Exeter, its a big ask to overhaul a twenty point deduction. There is also the fact that the on field officials and VAR are used against us to manipulate the results. We just have to win against this sham claim that EUFA have leveled at our club.

This is exactly what has me worried.

One of the said individuals that imposed our sanctions was Charles Flint QC and he also serves at Blackstone Chambers who we retained the services of.

If he is of the conclusion we did wrong it must not be as cut and dry as we make out.

However CAS have been very critical of the AC in past so who knows
Didn't the AC make a judgement on what the IC sent them which included no evidence from City as we'd 'refused to cooperate'?

The IC should we win will be thrown under the bus as the AC can just point out they only had one side to look at.

Whilst I agree that £8m would be a farcically low sum for Etihad to contribute, those emails, the content of which City have not denied, would seem to indicate precisely that.....albeit that we don’t know the context, eg. was it a one off due to the airline’s financial circumstances that year etc etc
In isolation of common sense, contracts and statements maybe. Der Spiegel wanted to paint a picture of a greedy Arab Sheikh doing what he wanted. And there's a big audience ready to buy that.

I think that’s everyone’s concern. The trouble is we don’t know how City’s “non-cooperation” at the IC stage manifested itself. Did we produce our fully audited accounts? Did we produce other credible evidence to undermine the content of those emails? Part of me thinks we must have done - which wouldn’t be good news as it would mean they saw our evidence, weren’t convinced by it, and ruled against us anyway - if only to head the potential for disaster off at the earliest opportunity, but equally I suppose it could be that we decided we would never get a fair hearing out of UEFA regardless and decided to put our faith in CAS instead. I’d need @projectriver to confirm what’s likely and what isn’t though.....

I'd work on the basis we put forward our clearest evidence as opposed to taking the petulant (and highly risky), "we will see you at CAS" approach. Somehow (and hopefully we find out in a judgment) the AC got themselves comfortable in getting over our evidence.

I actually like listening to them, they're funny. But I was disappointed with that remark. If we win I reckon he'll have a rant on air. I look forward to it.
Funny really? Wow. Paul Hawksby thinks he is Paul Merton but isn’t; he says something contrived and obvious, and his daft chelsea mate (and you apparently) laugh

Yeah he's the half wit with little man syndrome that constantly giggles like a 6 year old at his colleagues smug, predictable shite jokes
Just typed something similar without having seen your response. Pretty much what you would expect from Chelsea and spurs fans, although my generalisation is harsh on the occasional spurs and Chelsea fans who aren’t knobs

We don't know Flint was on the panel, he's one of five members and they only need three to actually participate. Given his UAE connections he might well have recused himself.

Sure it has been reported/confirmed that he was on the AC for our case.

After yesterday’s result I got to thinking, as unlikely as it might be, imagine we win the appeal and end up finishing 5th. Now that would be the Typical City to end all Typical City’s....
Of course, if it’s bad news next week, we should do everything in our power to finish 5th anyway.
Even we couldn't be that typical....could we?

From what we know they certainly had access to it. With CAS1 happening before their involvement it would be absolute my stupid of them not to look at
